@Jaydyn what did Jonah put on for you last night when you were freaking over your calculator? I’m gonna start listening to that. It’s on Spotify and is like chill out vibe or something
Practically I read in a silent ambience. But I really love reading when there’s a sound of rain (because it’s raining outside) or at least slow music or ballads in a low volume, I can tolerate that.
Lately I try to find music on YouTube to listen to (often long videos of instrumental music). I just came across this one (although it’s short): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=as4FIwXFftw
Depending on the book. For scary or mystery thriller books I listen to creepy playlist on youtube. For romance, just any romance song I have and everything else depends on what my current favorite songs are. But mostly I do it for scary or mystery books because it sets the mood nicely.
when I read my romance stuff I have a playlist that consists of songs that are mentioned in some na/romance books ^^ for thrillers/everything else I prefer classical music
I have a playlist on Spotify that I listen to all the time. If I’m listening to music it’s that playlist. So that’s what I listen to when reading. If you want to take a look through it I’ll happily link it if that’s ok with the group or I’ll happily dm you the link. (That goes for everyone)
I enjoy soft music when I’m reading in my recliner. I stream videos like this to my HDTV and set the volume low. It blocks out any ambient noise without being intrusive. I have a dozen or more 3-hour videos that I use. This one is the most recent addition.
Depends on the book! Sometimes no music, other times the genre varies. I often like instrumental stuff like classical music or brass band music. I can get distracted by songs!
It depends on my mood, and on what I’m reading. Though I don’t always match the music to the book. But when I do: Fantasy- Musical scores from fantasy movies like Harry Potter, Worldbeat and Filk. (Filk is the music version of fan fiction.) Mysteries- Rock, Heavy Metal, History- If it’s one of a specific time /place, then I try to match it as close as I can.
