I am reading I, Eliza Hamilton and it is historical fiction but has romance in it-as well as history- about Alexander Hamilton. It is very interesting.
When We Were God’s, Colin Falconer. I read this at least once a year. Cleopatra biography but written like a fiction novel, see both relationships with Caesar and Marc Antony.
I really like the Amelia Peabody series by Elizabeth Peters, series by Anna Lee Huber, Susan Elia MacNeal, Deanna Raybourne, Sherry Thomas’s Lady Sherlock, and Charles Todd’s Bess Crawford
Historical romance books? Highly recommend the historical novel “Katherine” by Anya Seaton. Heart rending tribute to one of the greatest, most enduring romances in English history. I’ve owned numerous copies over the years and read it many times.❣️
@Glenda One of mine in high school, too. I reread it every few years and am just about due again. Another Seaton historical novel, “The Winthrop Woman” came out shortly after “Katherine” and it was interesting but I didn’t like it, the way it ended, nearly as well. Would have been better if I’d read “Winthrop Woman” first, then “Katherine” –
