Yeah I agree on tad Williams, also Phillip Pullman and George r r martin. Still undecided on Robert jordans wheel of time. For the win I go with Stephen king’s dark tower even though I despise the first book thoroughly.
@Josh gotcha, maybe I need to finish it lol. I don’t know, it just seemed he started going down too many story lines of characters that had no bearing throughout the books. Too much fluff maybe? I don’t know.
I really loved the “Sword of Truth” series by Terry Goodkind. And you can stay in the world he has created forever, because as of this date there are 16 books and they are all looonnnggg.
@Troy start now. I loved them and I had to be convinced to read them. I thought, it’s just not my thing. It took me about a quarter of the way through the first book to really become engaged. After that I was hooked.
I started the Drizzt books, I got 3 in and there are like 8 more to go. They are entertaining but I can’t make myself go on. These seem a little more adult
That’s hard as so many good ones a d fantasy has so many subgenres. For standard fantasy mercedes lackey valdemar series. For urban fantasy its Dresden files by Jim butcher
