They’re also bound cheaper so they can be sold cheaper and therefore companies can produce more hence “mass market”
This is also a common format for books that are required reading in school because teacher can purchase larger quantities at a lower price. I don’t think I ever read a hardcover in school.
What? Following because I’m confused lol
I think it is one of the smaller paperbacks and the trades is a larger paperback.
Yes it’s a smaller thicker book
That’s what I thought thank you!
Usually an older book reprinted
The reason why I’m asking is because I like the cover of the mass market because it goes with the other covers.
Mass Market is smaller

Hardcovers = (large size) – Trade paperbacks (medium size) – Mass Market paperbacks (small size).
Is trade paperback the regular paperbacks that are being sold or are they different from regular paperbacks?
It’s usually smaller and has a thinner paper back cover. At least thats the only difference on the ones I ordered from amazon.
Thank you guys!

They’re smaller, “pocket” size, and the paper and printing are of somewhat inferior quality. In some pages the ink can be very pale.
What are these called ? Hardcover but tiny
I love those! I have a couple: Flowers for Algernon and The Collector. Don’t know of a specific name for them.
