@Christina Well according to Goodreads, “New Adult fiction bridges the gap between Young Adult and Adult genres. It typically features protagonists between the ages of 18 and 25 with the cap at 30ish.” ??

There are so many genres and “subgenres” and so many books that fit into more than one genre…the world of books is complicated.? I feel like sometimes I make up my own subgenres or divisions. This is how I sound when I recommend books: “It’s a sciene fiction novel, but reads like literary fiction and has elements of romance.” ??

Young Adult previously known as ‘kids books’.

@Michelle I think of them as books for teenagers, not necessarily kids

YA books are written with target audience of 13-24. There is not much difference between YA and adult books these days though in certain genres like Fantasy/sci-fi.

It is the main genre I read and I’m 43. It is very difficult for me to read others sometimes and be focused enough so they are more at my mind level. ??

I’m exactly the same! 41 and I read mostly YA. I don’t like “hard work” books and the YA books often have better options in the genres I like. ?
