I love audio books especially while I’m falling asleep or driving. Plus there is a sleep timer feature that will turn your book off at different intervals. The only down side is I read fast and listening takes twice as long
@Chelsie You can adjust the speed. I listen at 1.75 or 2.0. The app you use will determine what speed settings you have. Unfortunately if you have an older car and listen to book cds, you don’t have a speed option. I’m not sure about newer cars.
@Chelsie I listen at 1.75 or 2.0. It took a little while to get to that, but I don’t hear any distortion at these speeds. I can’t listen at slower than 1.5 anymore though – now it gets distorted at slow speeds for me. ?
I think whatever you need to do to read/listen to a book is great! Personally, I love books. I love the feel in my hands, to see my progress and highlight words I don’t know. I want a personal library! But I have some friends that hate to read because it’s boring to them or they still have trouble reading, so audio books is great for them. Either one is still expanding our minds!
It depends on the voice that’s reading it. I do samples before purchasing because some of the readers put me to sleep. I really like my video game related books on audiobook such as Warcraft. They add music along the way in the background so it adds flare
Love them. I have a 45 minute commute to work one way. I also can tune out a lot of the extra while working at my desk. I also try to listen to some while getting chores done around the house (if my kids make it possible)
I am not a huge fan as I have ADD and I find myself not focusing. However, I listen to them when I drive and I really enjoy that. I am focused enough on driving so that my mind wanders less when the reader is reading. I have to rewind only a couple times per book usually
I love love love to read physical books, I eschew e-readers and the like. But I also really like to hear books read aloud. My only qualm with audiobooks is that I can’t listen to a lot of the same books I would read because the language is too strong for kids and I don’t want to walk around my home with earbuds in all the time. Audiobooks are great for when you have a newborn to hold 24/7 and can’t fanaggle a book around a nursing pillow, ?. Personally I think they’re great, especially if you’re an auditory learner you might really like them. My son is 7, very strongly and auditory learner and if it weren’t for audiobooks I would still be reading to him 5 hours a day!! Thank God for the Warrior cats books! ?
I listen to a ton of them these days – while walking my dogs and driving rescue transports.
I have one going in the car all the time ?

@Kerrie you can only adjust it up to about 1.25 or 1.5 depending on the author after that it starts getting distorted.

Hmmm I may have to work up to that.
I love them! It allows me to multi task or have something to do when i drive!
Love them
Love love them, mostly when I’m driving
I listen to them while I clean?
Listen to them while I’m at work.
Prefer the written word, but will be real happy to have them when my eyesight goes. Unless hearing goes at the same time. lol

I love audio books for sleepless nights. A male British voice does me in a few minutes. ?
There’s no wrong way to read a book.

I’ve tried them but it wasn’t working for me. I’d rather read the words instead of listening to them.

I’ve actually never tried them.
Love them
They are so great for if you have kids and not a lot of time to read!!
