To me they just sound like they are really excited and talking fast. I also can’t listen at the faster speeds when it’s not through headphones. It gets warbled the further away the sound is.
I usually keep it on 1 unless the narrator seems really abnormally slow then I’ll bump it up to 1.5. I don’t like it if I feel like they’re reading abnormally fast or rushing.
1x but it depends
1.5 usually. Some read way to slllllooowww
I set mine to 1- 1.5 depending on the pace. I would like fast pace but it tends to sound weird. Lol.
Anywhere between 1.5X & 2X.
2X
1.5+, how do you do it? Does it sound off??
Actually, anything slower sounds like the narrator is drunk.
Hahahahaha really??
@Maria agreed
1.5
1 or 1.25
I set mine 1x
1.5-1.75.
Usually 2x
1.8 or 2
2X
Depends on the speaker.
2x – I couldn’t imagine listening at any speed other than 1x until I tried it and set it higher and higher, it just takes a minute to get used to
It really depends on the person who’s reading it. Some read slower than others
1.1 usually unless it’s a slow reader then I’ll crank it up more
1.5 usually
Usually 1.25 or 1.5, it depends on the reader.
I can go to 3.5 on Audible depending on the speaker and if it’s my only focus, however my library app only goes to 2.
1.5. I can’t believe people listen at 2x or higher! Do all the readers sound like chipmunks??
To me they just sound like they are really excited and talking fast. I also can’t listen at the faster speeds when it’s not through headphones. It gets warbled the further away the sound is.
I think the faster speeds sound like chipmunks too!
Depends on the way the narrator is.
1.2 to 1.5
1 to 1.5 depending on the reader. I never go beyond 1.5 because it sounds too weird.
Usually 1.25 or 1.5 depending on the reader.
1.75 or 2x. Depends on the narrator
1.25 or 1.5 depending on the narrator.
I usually keep it on 1 unless the narrator seems really abnormally slow then I’ll bump it up to 1.5. I don’t like it if I feel like they’re reading abnormally fast or rushing.
Depending on the narrator or complexity of the prose, 1.25 or 1.5.
1
Depends on what I’m doing. If I’m cleaning or cooking, 1.75x. If I’m at work and need a little more concentration, I drop it down to 1.0.
1x normally currently ‘re listening to a book though so cranked it up to 1.4 – 1.5 sounds weird on this particular book ????
if it lets me, 1.25.
depends, in the beginning if i’m getting used to a world 1.25, if I like it 1.5 if I want to get it over with 1.75
There are speed options?!!! ?
If I’m listening is 1.25
2x and now I can’t listen to anything slower. It sounds like a sloth talking ?
@Brandy same. It irritates me now.
1.75x!
2x
1, I don’t really like when they talk faster than normal
1.5
Depends on the narrator and if they have an accent that’s hard to understand lol. But usually 1.75/2x
Kevin Hart is a fast talker lol
Usually 1.25, but if it’s a reread I’ll speed it up more
1x
Depends on the narrator and the book. If it’s one of the sjtr books, 1x. Outlander books 1.25x. Red queen series 1.5-2x.
Am I the only one who falls asleep listening to audio books even if I love the book
I really hope I don’t start falling asleep, because I usually listen on my way too and from work ?
Nooooo ??? I always bookmark if I’m just sitting & listening..
Need to play a game, crochet, jig saw.. or clean the home ? to stay awake.
Haha yeah I get that usually I listen to them at night when my little one is asleep or I miss half the book and have to go back
Depends on the narrator
1.25x
Usually 1.25 is the go to, sometimes 1.5. I listen to them mostly at work so I can’t have it faster or I miss things
1.5
1.75
1.75
Depends on the narrator … usually 1.8x
I don’t remember the number but I go one tick slower than the default. Auditory processing disorders ftw ?
When you realize you can cgange the speed of the audio..lmao!!
I usually keep it at 1x, but sometimes speed it up if the narrator is on the slow side.
Usually 1.8x or 2x
1.75 right now, but depending on the narrator, usually 1.25
1.35X seem just right for most books.
You can DO that?!! (Just kidding lol)
Depends on the narrator. I always speed it up some.
1.5-1.75
2.2-2.5 ish
I gradually increase it as I progress
1.7 is my lowest, but sometimes I increase as i progress to 1.8,9, or 2x if its really easy
It depends on the speaker. Usually 1.5x, and I wish more apps had the option for 1.75x speed.
1.5-2x
Depends 1,25x mostly but when spoken really slow 1,5x ?
1x
1x, always. I cherish every minute of each book. If I don’t like, or get used to the narrator, I don’t listen. I read instead.
Me too actually. There are some books where the narrator does the best job of modulating tone in relation to the pace of the story.
And generally, I’m not the type of person to rush things. I like to enjoy to the fullest ?
@Nadeera, exactly! Plus, there are some that make books even better. ?
