1.5. I can’t believe people listen at 2x or higher! Do all the readers sound like chipmunks??

2

Molly

To me they just sound like they are really excited and talking fast. I also can’t listen at the faster speeds when it’s not through headphones. It gets warbled the further away the sound is.

I think the faster speeds sound like chipmunks too!

I usually keep it on 1 unless the narrator seems really abnormally slow then I’ll bump it up to 1.5. I don’t like it if I feel like they’re reading abnormally fast or rushing.

Depending on the narrator or complexity of the prose, 1.25 or 1.5.

1x, always. I cherish every minute of each book. If I don’t like, or get used to the narrator, I don’t listen. I read instead.

Me too actually. There are some books where the narrator does the best job of modulating tone in relation to the pace of the story.

1
Nadeera

And generally, I’m not the type of person to rush things. I like to enjoy to the fullest ?

1
Jeanie

@Nadeera, exactly! Plus, there are some that make books even better. ?
