What books are we listening to?
Sherron #questionnaire #audio book
These aren’t something I’ve tried. I had some on cassette years ago, mostly Colin Dexter ‘s Inspector Morse. I did try audible once but it wouldn’t work on my device at the time.
Excellent for the car trips
Currently listening to Fool Moon by Jim Butcher. This is my first time through Harry’s universe and I’m loving it.
I’m listening to Night by Elie Wiesel ?
His work is insightful
Mockingjay! My kids and I are listening to the series (for the second time) during our 2+hour commute to Soccer twice a week! They loooove it.
Confessions of a Jane Austen Addict. Might start A Man Called Ove soon. Haven’t decided yet.
The narrator is really good for Ove. Try it out.
And if you like that book, try Beartown by the same author. That narrator was just amazing imo
I’m listening to IT and Heart Shaped Box by Joe Hill. I was listening to Winter’s Tale for about 2 month and had to DNF it.
I’ve been trying to get hold of It but it’s nearly 20 quid! ?
Tried, they don’t have it 🙁
When the Children Cry – White Lion. Great song… Don’t listen to books. Not that I think it’s bad or anything, I just never really do…
Mostly Charles Dickens, but I have To Kill A Mockingbird, and Homer’s great books, I read the books but sometimes I like other people to read them to me, even though I’m about 40 years old.
I know, my 72 year old eyes need a break
I’m listening to Harry Potter and the Prisoner and Azkaban!
Just got a load of Discworld audios I’m looking forward to.
Please, I’ll be waiting for your opinion ?? I had been wanting to buy the audiobooks but i wasn’t sure ?
Lol I’ve read most of his books, he’s my favourite author 🙂
I got Mort recently to try out first.
Harry potter and the chamber of secrets
Pride and Prejudice and A Spool of Blue Thread
I haven’t found Pride and Prejudice.
I thought that was one book ?♀️
I can’t stand the e books or audio I’m old fashioned I guess but nothing beats holding the book in ur hands and the smell
Still an avid reader, but for car trips or eye problems the audio are terrific
Same her Sherron, I’m not a fan of the radio when I’m driving and sometimes I get whopping bad headaches so listening to an audio softly is helpful 🙂
Harry Potter and the order of the Phoenix
The Way of Kings and The Handmaid’s Tale, besides Cafe in Berlin to improve my german ??
I’ll be listening to The Jewel by Amy Ewing tonight.
The Face of a Stranger by Anne Perry and The Idolatry of God by Peter Rollins–both excellent!
Arcana Rising in preparation for the next book in the series! Hope it’s out soon.
One Dark Throne
That’s what’s up next for me!!
Throne of Glass reread! On book two!
What do you think of the narrator? I did not like her at all.
I have listened to every book on audio and she does them all. I think I’m just used to her after 60+ hours ?? but I have recorded a few messups she’s done that make me laugh!!
I think sometimes if you love the book, you can get over the narration.
I agree and I think the more you power through you can get used to it. It does take will power though!
Prowned Crince of Otterland!!
Prowned crince is my favorite new saying ?
Big Little Lies
I finished Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand and loved, loved it. So much so, that I started Seabiscuit today. Written by the same author.
The Hero of Ages
Liked a lot the mistborn trilogy xD I’m listening/”rereading” the Graphic audiobook of The Way of Kings, the first book of his new series and also a Cosmere book 😀 <3
I’ve read both SA books and find myself liking them more than the Mistborn ones but am still throughly enjoying them! I picked up Arcanum Unbounded several weeks ago but I wanted to finish Mistborn first.
Yep, totally the same here xD I enjoyed Mistborn but I like Stormlight Archive a lot more xD You can really see how much Brandon Sanderson has improved as a writer since his first works 🙂
The Glass House was excellent
The Future of Us by Jay Asher
Dragon Bones by Patricia Briggs. I read the book years ago.
Mississippi Blood by Greg Iles
I do not listen to books, I read books, old-fashioned yes I know, but hey, that´s the way I like it. 🙂
Some people can’t read so audiobooks are a true life saver ☺️ ?
Tom Clancy and Ken Follett
I just got a ken follet series! Excited to start!
@Alli the trilogy? It is amazing really i loved them
The fall of giants!
The century trilogy yes!
@Alli don’t let yourself down, the intro is quit long but when the story starts it is so exciting, moving and so interesting, when you read them please tell me what you think
Color Purple 🙂
A Redwall book, one of my favourites, Mariel of Redwall. I love the fact that they are more of a radio drama, my sons enjoyed them when they were young, and I actually enjoy them still LOL. Music all the way through, and a fast paced story. When I’m tired and have things to do, sometimes one of those really gets me going.
House of Many Ways (Howl’s Moving Castle #3) by Diana Wynne Jones
I always thought the book the movie was based on was a manga. I’ll look for these books now that I know they’re novels, and more than 1
The last two are not strictly involving Sophie and Howl but they do make appearances along with mentions of places and people from previous books. I like the series as a whole though! Diana Wynne Jones is super imaginative!
Thanks. I’ll definitely look for them now.
Demelza Poldark by WinstonGraham
Game of thrones ?
Bossypants, by Tina Fey 😀
Listening? Wow…haven’t done that in years….
Vampire kisses and blood promise
I checked out one from the library and I thought it said James Patterson but it’s not even though I thought I would listen to it not my cup of tea. Try to get to the library today
