I get audiobooks from my library with the Libby app on my phone and I also have a subscription to Scribd. I never listen to music anymore while driving, it’s all audiobooks ?
Audiobooks are. Amazing for adulting! I rarely listen to them whole driving because I find them distracting but I listen to them as I get ready for work or while I’m cleaning make the boring mundane tasks easy.
I think eyes and ears are just two different sensory organs transmitting the same data to the brain. Which modality makes the most sense for you does not diminish the experience in my opinion, just as using the kinesthetic sense ( as in reading Braille) also counts.
Absolutely. Though I don’t keep track of what I read for the number, I keep track to be able to go back and recommend to friends and family as well as to find more like the books I love and avoid authors I can’t stand. And I use Goodreads to see what others thought of books I’ve finished. All too often I’ve finished books thinking, well that was rubbish, why was it so popular? And it’s incredibly helpful to find reviews that either validate what I felt or showed me a perspective I wouldn’t have gotten on my own. So yes, audiobooks count. Anyone who says otherwise is just being an elitist and should be ignored.
Yes.

@Dana I need to concentrate on driving so I listen to music cds. However, that sounds like a wonderful idea when I drive distances. ❤️

Nope. That’s like listening to music.
I count and rate all. It helps the authors get funded and shows what formats I use …which if audio helps the narrators get reviews and jobs

Absolutely. I think anytime you experience the story someone has written, you are “reading”. You’re processing the words, just in a different way.
