Worst…? I hate to say, because so much depends on our moods—and art is so subjective! (Plus, I know how much work and love went into each and every book?)
I can’t pick a best, my head swims with possibles when I think about it. Worst would be Flawed, it’s the only book I have ever given up reading. Usually I can finish a drab book but that book would have killed my love of books if I’d continued.
Worst: The Last Star by Rick Yancey (I loved the 5th Wave and the Infinite Sea. TLS was just a poor conclusion) Best: Last Seen Leaving by Caleb Roehrig and Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead
Best- ACOMAF, Empire of Storms, Legacy of Kings, Wicked, Frozen Tides, Their Fractured Light, Vampire Academy series , Splintered trilogy, the Great Hunt, Frostfire, Venators, A Torch Against the Night, the Covenant series, the Infernal Devices, Lady Midnight, Six of Crows duology, Illuminae, Truthwitch, there are far too many I enjoyed. Heartless, Winter. Worst- Seeker, All These Things I’ve done
Acomaf for the best. Worst? Hmm, not because it was bad but it wasn’t as good as the other books I read: This Raging Light. There wasn’t enough substance. I’m hoping the 2nd part is better.
Best: Six of Crows and Worst: I’m so afraid to say because my friend forced me to continue on this series even though I told her the first three did not work for me
I didn’t hate it at all but I just felt underwhelmed at the end of the first… maybe I need to give the first one another try since it’s been a few years
I couldn’t put it down! I was supposed to be sleeping on the 14 hour flight to Hong Kong, but I just kept reading instead and then felt horrible when we got there!?
@Faith, I’ll give ACOMAF a shot, though the reason I read ACOTAR was because everyone talked about how good it was that I had high expectations. It as the same with The Raven Boys. I didn’t hate either of them but I didn’t enjoy them as much as I wanted to. @Siri, I’ll probably do the same as @Amanda and reread it again. I also felt like it was slow and confusing so maybe I’ll get a better understanding if I go through it again.
Where do you guys find the motivation to REread a book you didn’t even enjoy the FIRST time? Man, I am really questioning my marketing skills for my own novel… *shakes head and sighs heavily at the ceiling* ?
Well City of Bones I had a problem getting into it the first time and then someone convinced me to give it another chance and I did and I ended up loving it. I guess it just depends on the book because I usually don’t reread something if I didn’t like it.
@Siri Lol, I have to wait a while before I can reread it again. There were parts (and characters) that I liked, but overall I was just confused and that made me frustrated and I just wanted it to be over. I’m hoping that by rereading it, I’ll pick up on things that I might have missed. @Faith, that’s what happened with me and Divergent. First time I didn’t care too much, second time I liked it a lot more, so I’m hoping that it’ll work with The Raven Boys.

My favorite book that I read in 2016 was Everything Everything by Nicola Yoon and the book I disliked the most was Heartless by Marissa Meyer
Best: A Court of Mist and Fury
Worst: Fighting Destiny (The Fae Chronicles #1)
worst, girl on the train
Best: A Man Called Ove. I liked it so much that I read it twice.
Lady Midnight was the best the Immortal series were the worst.
By Alyson Noel?
Yes
Yes. Couldn’t get past Blue Moon.
I finished them because I hate leaving a series unfinished but OMG they were awful!
Yeah I couldn’t continue with them..
Empire of Storms = Best ~~~~ The Young Elites = Worstish (wasn’t too bad)
Best: ACOMAF, Empire of Storms, Cinder, Tiger’s Curse
Worst: My Antonia
I liked My Antonia, but couldn’t make it through Tiger’s Curse.
Best I’d say sookie stackhouse series and worst Gamers
Best: Six of Crows and Worst: I’m so afraid to say because my friend forced me to continue on this series even though I told her the first three did not work for me
House of night is the worst series. I still love the Hush Hush series by Becca Fritzpatrick
I liked hush hush. What didnt you like about House of Night?
For me the best was between Lady Midnight and Six of Crows. The worst was A Court of Thorns and Roses, also The Raven Boys, and The 5th Wave.
You didn’t like The Raven Boys??
Sadly no. I might continue to see if they get better, but I didn’t really enjoy the first one 🙁
Don’t give up on ACOTAR just yet because ACOMAF is so much better. I can understand with 5th Wave though.
@Ash I would say if you hated the first, don’t bother. They continue with the same general dreamlike vibe
I had a hard time with Raven Boys too @Siri. I loved the writing but it seemed so slow and confusing. Tell me they get better!
@Amanda They stay artsy. No, if you hated the fist the chance you’ll love the later ones is slim???
I didn’t hate it at all but I just felt underwhelmed at the end of the first… maybe I need to give the first one another try since it’s been a few years

@Ash Fair enough. Whatever you enjoy???
I know a lot love Carry On by Rainbow Rowell but honestly it wasn’t my cup of tea….
