@Mare Yup, actually not reading exactly, but listening to an audiobook, the 4th book of the seven sisters series, the Pearl sister by Lucinda Riley, i really enjoyed the previous books of the series!
@Anneta Oh I never read that – what period is it set in ? Oh, Have you watched the Downton Abbey series ? I have seen most of it and own the first 3 seasons. My fav couple was Lady Sybil and Tom and they sort of remind me of the one couple in your story, except Sybil went with her heart and didn’t care about her background..
@Mare The Lucinda Riley books go back in time and present time. The 7 sisters are adopted by an eccentric millionaire who suddenly passes away and leaves them traces so as the girls could one day discover their roots. The first book is set in Brazil, the 2nd in Norway, the 3rd in England and now the 4th in Australia. There are 3 more books to come. I found the first three books interesting but the 4th i’m currently reading feels kind of boring but we’ll see, time will tell. Mare i have never watched the Downton abbey series but would like to, you know i’m into every kind of period drama. I was born in the wrong era i think. Lol!!!!!
@Anneta Oh, I think you would like it. Yes, I think maybe you were. I would love to time travel. Anyway in the series Lady Sybil, was the sweetest and I think the prettiest of the Lord’s 3 daughters, It takes place around 1915, and includes WW1, but it doesn;t concentrate on it and covers it fast, right after the war, women’s fight for the right to vote etc. Lady Sybil gets involved doing nursing during the war with her sister, and is interested in the women’s suffrage movement in England etc., and falls in love with Irish family chauffeur. Despite her family’s , esp. her father, misgivings they get married, and she gets involved with his involvement for the Independence of Ireland (republic of Ireland now) from the UK, which happened in 1922. So there are tensions between her family, esp. her father and her Irish husband- good drama there. I won’t give you a spoiler on them but hope you can watch it. I thought he was cute too.
