I listen on my phone via Libby. Get the books from my public library.
I also get from my library. My library uses axis360. But Iāve also used Libby in the past as well.
I listen via overdrive app with books borrowed from the library- OR- the Kindle app via the KindleUnlimited membership. Some kindle books include an audio version.
@Tricia I have the kindle app on my phone and some have audio version, but I canāt seem to figure out how to use it on my phone! ??
@Rosie have you tapped on the headphones ? icon on the book in the Kindle app? It has to download the book and then download the audio content separately.
@Tricia it doesnāt come up on mine ? I click on read and listen and it tells me I can once I download audio version… but Iāve already got it ?
@Rosie what is the title? Iāll check it for you
@Tricia Iāve got loads of different ones… but the one Iām attempting to do at the moment is: Ellie Jordan, Ghost Trapper by J. L. Bryan
@Rosie are you sure it has audio content? I have that book and I donāt show the option.
@Tricia in my kindle app it says it does ? as I searched all the ones that does have audio narration… trying to link audible to it now but none of my books are showing up
What you need is the ones that say āread and listen for freeā
@Tricia right okay…. Iāll have a look at all the ones Iāve downloaded
@Rosie and some will trick you. See how this one has the headphones? But it doesnāt say āread and listen for freeā so you can only read it and there isnāt really an audio option. Iāve been trying to figure out how to report it because Iāve caught a lot of them.
@Tricia ahhh! Thatās probably where Iāve gone wrong then! ? thank you so much!
@Rosie no problem. I found out the hard way.
@Rosie I also noticed that my husband bought a series that I could get free on my KU subscription and he didnāt get the audio option. Only I would via the membership.
@Tricia oh okay… that may be why I canāt listen to some of them? Iām not sure will have to look into it
audible
I get mine through the library, but the new books audible.
I get mine from youtube
I just recently started using Libby as someone had mentioned previously. You can o my get what the library has but that tends to be a lot! Not so good for newer books of course if your library doesnāt get them in. You can also borrow āphysicalā versions of books too along with audiobooks. I typically use a mix of both. Plus auto returns!
The app itself is pretty easy to work aswell! As long as you own a library card and itās on the list (my primary location that is with the school I go to is not on the list, but my library card can be used at numerous different sites in the district.
Overdrive app, links to your library card
Cloud Library app
Smart audiobook player is amazing. You can put a sleep timer on that resets when you shake your phone š
It depends on where the book is available, but my preference is Overdrive which is connected to my library.
