I appreciate that. If you go through libraries, they do buy the copies for their readers. Nobody’s mad at you for going that route. You support us and the libraries that way. Win/win!
@Jessica OK so print out an application and then either get a rehab certified rehab specialist like myself a vision rehab specialist or a doctor to certify that you are visually impaired. What state are you in?
I was just curious as to which state you were in? That way I can look up to see where your rehab services are people like me vision we have therapist that’s all
No it’s a service in any state. National library services it’s a free service they send you books through the mail and a talking book player and then you can play on that player.
@Jessica Yes you can pick the books yourself. Or they can send you random books. I have them send me random books because sometimes you do send you some pretty good ones. It’s OK no worries I understand the skepticism.
It’s paid: Audible
@Delger-Ochir yeah I thought about it is it free with prime
@Delger-Ochir it’s not free with Prime but there are books with audio free with Prime. Not a ton but there are some.
Kindle unlimited has books that have free audio books. There is also amazon prime i believe. Audible is free for like 10 days and then you pay.
Sorry. Kindle unlimited costs, but they offer books that have free audio.
Same with Amazon prime.
@Liz ok thxs
I look on YouTube.
@Shelby thats what I have been doing
@Jessica I find a ton on there and there are usually good recommendations when I finish one.
If you have a library card, you can utilize the Overdrive, Libby, or Hoopla app and rent them for free!
@Danielle ^^^ that’s what I do
@Tricia It’s the best. I wouldn’t be able to listen to nearly as much as I do without it! ??
@Tricia do u need to know your library password
@Jessica yes, my library had to give me a special password
@Jessica It’s just your library card number and your last name on my app, once you set up your account. At least for me it was.
@Danielle is this it
Yes ma’am! ☺️
@Jessica go to your library’s website and see what platform they use. Mine uses Libby or OverDrive. Others use Hoopla.
@Tricia ok
I always think it’s cool to pay artists for their work, but that’s just me.
@Kevin ???
@Jessica he means when you get them off Youtube or another illegal download site you aren’t paying the author for their work.
@Tricia ok
Exactly. Looking for free copies just hurts us, especially indies.
I appreciate that. If you go through libraries, they do buy the copies for their readers. Nobody’s mad at you for going that route. You support us and the libraries that way. Win/win!
