Depends on the book and also whether or not I’m reading or listening. If I’m listening usually it’s faster because I can do it while doing other things.
depends what book, if I’m really into it I can binge-read a book within 3 to 4 days 300-400 pages, probably less time if I didn’t have a family to care for
Like the others, it depends on the book. With certain books I limit myself to a chapter a day and fill in my reading time with short stories or essays. It took me several months to get through the Ron Chernow bio of Alexander Hamilton and I feel that I absorbed and retained more by taking it a little bit at a time. I also try to savor certain novels, A Gentleman in Moscow, for example. Other novels I can read at a faster pace, maybe a couple of days.
Grant took me almost a month as did Isaacksen’s Einstein. I felt I absorbed every bit of them..more than most books. Hamilton.. took me a week of solid reading about 6 hours a day. I am not prepared to do that again. Will take a bit longer.
@Betsy I was on a deadline with the Hamilton book, wanting to finish it before I saw the play. I had to read longer sections as the date of the play approached, but finished it the night before I went. I learned so much and it really enhanced my enjoyment and understanding of the play.
This probably makes absolutely no sense to you and it really doesn’t make sense to me but I can fly through a book if it’s on my Kindle but if it’s on my tablet it takes me twice as long at least. I think it’s the feel in my hands ….
I take 2-3 days to read a book on average. Sometimes more if it is a longer book, or less if it is a very short one. Longest I ever took I think was three weeks to read War and Peace.
I don’t read fast but I’m retired and love to read so I read a book every 2-7 days depending how long the book and how many distractions I have at the time. I read much faster on my iPad, if I’m forced to read a real book it takes me much longer.
It takes me about a week to read a book depending on how much free time I have or how long or complex a book is. I’m never in a hurry when I read and if the language is exquisite, I like to savor it.
on sunday i read speak(so excellent) … and monday night from 11pm to 12.30 i read lumberjanes(weird) ….. so sometimes, one day. depends on the book, the length, the seriousness, and once going on in life.
Depends on life and the book. I’ve finished plenty of books on the same day I’ve started them….or, I’ve taken a month and a half to get 1/3 of the way through one of my current reads.
Depends entirely on my free time and how interested I am. I usually read 2-4 books a month depending on how heavy my workload is, 5 if I’m on vacation or something.
I usually read it while keeping the chapters as a target that these many ought to be finished in a day. However, this does not implies when it comes to the most “absorbingly interesting” part.
Some books I finish in less than 24 hours… I’ve actually read three books in the last week. But then other times it takes me longer. Just depends on the book and how busy I am (or how much I am willing to put off doing so I can read instead)
I feel like a slacker!!! I read in the bath and bed… so a book can take a few weeks unless I power through the night… but then books like Catch 22 took a year to read….
It depends on the book, on how complicated it is (words, plots etc), on my workload that particular week (as a teacher it varies and usually unexpected tasks add up!)… And on top of that I am a slow reader… In other words : between two days and a month!
Depends 1 day to a week to a couple of weeks.
One week is okay for us I think.
Depends on the book and also whether or not I’m reading or listening. If I’m listening usually it’s faster because I can do it while doing other things.
any recommends for the audiobook?
That’s a big variable based off size of book, topic, how busy I am. Anywhere from a few days to a few weeks.

3-4days for 300-400 pages !!I will try.
Most books , a day or so. Some big big books a week or so.

Less than a day
I average about 100 pages a day, so it depends on the size of the book and how busy I am.
The same as I am
? what is your average book size?
standard size.
2-4 weeks. I have a full time job, boyfriend, and lots of hobbies!
Impossible to say because there are so many variables but I average 10 books per month.
10 books per month!!!wow it is great and learn from you.
I take 2-3 days to read a book on average. Sometimes more if it is a longer book, or less if it is a very short one. Longest I ever took I think was three weeks to read War and Peace.
Depends how good the book is.
1-3

How about hours???
With me depends on the book and if it’s during my weekend. I try to read when I get home from work but I usually fall asleep.
On average a week
Depends on the book. Sometimes a week. Once I read “Pillars of the Earth, over a thousand pages in two days…….it is really good…..LOL
Depends on how much I love the book.
depends….usually about 2 or 3 days.
on sunday i read speak(so excellent) … and monday night from 11pm to 12.30 i read lumberjanes(weird) ….. so sometimes, one day. depends on the book, the length, the seriousness, and once going on in life.

I try to average two books a week, though.

Hours to weeks
Depends on the book. Hours, days, or weeks.
Depends on whether it’s fiction or non-fiction, and how thick the book is.
I usually read it while keeping the chapters as a target that these many ought to be finished in a day. However, this does not implies when it comes to the most “absorbingly interesting” part.

If i dont have work (like ever in my entire life), perhaps a day. But it still depends on the book that im reading.
It depends. I can finish a book in a couple of hours when I enjoy it but I have a book in my “currently reading” list since 2015.
On average 3 xx
Depends on the book. Average is 3-4 days
Depending on the size of the book and how it’s written 1-4 days.
Is it weird of me to tell you that I love your last name?
@Brittany nope! We’re probably cousins 33 times removed or something! ?
Depends on the book for me lol took me a month to get thru Stephen king’s IT, I kept falling asleep reading it with the words so small on the pages ?
Today I read an entire book in one sitting! Rare; but it fulfills one of the 2018 reading challenges posted here.
What book?
“The Buddha in the Attic” Thanks for asking.
Depends on the length and the subject matter.
2-3 days during my younger days..now it can take weeks and months ???
I’m a ridiculously slow reader. Weeks or months would be a better time frame.
