I’m using overdrive right now for a few reasons 1) reading actual books seems to be giving me migraines and 2) a lot of the books I want to read have been checked out and I don’t like waiting lol
I realized I was saying it wrong because Harry notes hat Victor Krum pronounces incorrectly and that was similar to how I was pronouncing it in my head. But I didn’t know what was correct!
2 to 3 a week if I stay on top of it. I keep my books with me and whenever I get downtime I read. Not a fan of tv so it’s easy for me but it really depends on how enjoyable the book is for me also. I’ve read lengthy books in a matter of 2 days because it was so enthralling.
Sometimes I find it hard to finish even one book a month! I do get through a lot of audiobooks though, as they’re a lot easier to take in while doing other stuff.
If I tried, I could read more, but I do one or two. The reason is because I want to think about the book I just read. I want to reflect on things and I also have other things I do in my spare time or use to benefit myself as well.
One thing I realised; I cannot finish the whole entire series by reading the books continuously without changing the author, even if it’s just a trilogy. I can manage reading two consercutive books, but that’s about it. I change and take another book. So a series takes decades to end 🙂
That’s it. I have ‘Miss Peregrine’s Home of Peculiar Children’s ‘ last book pending and Sevenwaters last book waiting too. Looking forward to comeback to them once my mood kicks in.
I always have a book with me, on my phone, on a tablet, on my computer etc. I read whenever I can (lunch at work everyday, doctors appointments, etc). I also noticed i read faster if I really love the book. So the trilogy I did in a day last week didn’t take as long as a normal book would because it was awesome.
I can finish a book in two days if it’s really good so I could read 15 in a month but that wouldn’t be very good for my house… cause nothing else would get done!
I will listen to 1 audiobook a month during my drive to and from work and I try to read another book as well. So all together two a month give or take.
@Michele I read pretty much whenever I have free time during the day, including on my walk to and from work. ? It all depends on what I have planned that day, if I have plans with family or friends, I don’t read as much then. I’ve just always been a fast reader-sorry, I know that’s not much help!
Most months, one or two. This month I’ve read 8! But I’ve stayed indoors most days this chilly January. I credit my Kindle for just being able to read one after another. Because I certainly wasn’t trying to “go fast”
Now it’s 89. It’s a freak ability I have for speed reading. This is on the high side cos I haven’t worked much in January so I had more time to read. When I have a day off I might go through 8 books.
Unfortunately it’s a freak gift I’ve always had. A 200p book takes me 30-45 minutes for me to read, and I can read for hours without getting bored or distracted. I can read and follow/participate in a conversation. I know there’s training out there, but it’s just something I could always do, though the sheer volume that I read has probably made me a little quicker over the years
@Gabbie That’s awesome and I hate you a little bit haha! I get through a book every two weeks (mainly because I work 60 hours per week minimum). It used to be a book a week, which everyone ooohed and aaahhed about, but now I have to kill myself because you’re so much more awesome. <3
2016 i read 2 a week then last year i made more of an effort to be social n knocked it back to 1 to 2 a month. I am doing my masters though so i read all day. This year so far ive read 2.
I read most when my husband is at work (second shift) I used to read a lot in high school but got busy and didn’t read for several years. Then I got bored with tv when my husband started second shift 2 years ago.
According to my arbitrary judging rules, short stories only count if part of a collection, and talking books don’t count as reading. Feel free to disregard and go by your own count :p
2 on average per week, 3 on “good weeks”, Depending on the workload, kids studies and if I’m beta reading, because then I take longer. On holidays and vacations is when I’m able to read 1 per day 🙂
I used to nearly could read one a day lol. But with my work schedule now. I can only read maybe 1 book a week):
I wish I could read a book a day!! I’m a slow reader and really like to get into it so it takes me 3-7 days to read a book from start to finish
I used to do hospice so I sat a lot. Alone. Now I’m back to working in the OR so no time at work to read
Usually 6-7
Sorry, but why it’s matters how many?
I think she was just generally curious
I’m just curious
I guess it really depends on how long it is, and also if I start one but then can’t get into it. This month I’ve read 9
Same depend also if I have read it already. If it’s a reread lol I go real fast
Exactly. Also if I’m listening to it
Yep I’m listening to my all time fav series on audiobook right now
I’m using overdrive right now for a few reasons 1) reading actual books seems to be giving me migraines and 2) a lot of the books I want to read have been checked out and I don’t like waiting lol
I like audiobooks sometimes I catch things I don’t usually when I read like pronunciations
Yeah. I was listening to a book and I always had thought the name Mia was (My-a) and they pronounced it (Me-a) so
Sameeeee hate that lol
I will never read the name and not hear it like that ever again lol
I was that way when the movies for Harry Potter came out in my head I pronounced hermione wrong
@Meagan SAME!
I realized I was saying it wrong because Harry notes hat Victor Krum pronounces incorrectly and that was similar to how I was pronouncing it in my head. But I didn’t know what was correct!
Exactly
3 to 5….except this month through probably march will be spent reading 1 book…(War and Peace)
It depends. Because for examples I have read this month over 25 books.
It varies, 2-3 a week is about average for me. So about nine or ten in a month I suppose.
2 to 3 a week if I stay on top of it. I keep my books with me and whenever I get downtime I read. Not a fan of tv so it’s easy for me but it really depends on how enjoyable the book is for me also. I’ve read lengthy books in a matter of 2 days because it was so enthralling.
But is it reading or audio? I feel there is a distinct difference.
I “read” 2-3 but listening is a whole different story. No pun intended.
1-3, I’ve really small kids, if I need an excuse for my low numbers 😉
Got small kids too. I can only read about as much. 🙂
1-2 only.
Sometimes I find it hard to finish even one book a month! I do get through a lot of audiobooks though, as they’re a lot easier to take in while doing other stuff.
just depends on how I am feeling and what else i ahve on the go
On my seventh.
I never count.
If I tried, I could read more, but I do one or two. The reason is because I want to think about the book I just read. I want to reflect on things and I also have other things I do in my spare time or use to benefit myself as well.
1-2
I just finished your second book 🙂
Ha ha… I suppose it’s within a month??
Actually faster than my norm, but I love your stuff, so…
Well, that’s great. I loved the whole thing and I had to steal the name 😀
You beat me to it 😉
Ha ha… happened 3 years ago 🙂
Well I’m alway late to the game, just read sweetness last year. I’m not the fastest reader but I’ve the entire series on my shelf just waiting.
One thing I realised; I cannot finish the whole entire series by reading the books continuously without changing the author, even if it’s just a trilogy. I can manage reading two consercutive books, but that’s about it. I change and take another book. So a series takes decades to end 🙂
Me too, but I like taking my time, otherwise it’s over too quickly. I like coming back to.the character after several weeks/months.
That’s it. I have ‘Miss Peregrine’s Home of Peculiar Children’s ‘ last book pending and Sevenwaters last book waiting too. Looking forward to comeback to them once my mood kicks in.
Exactly, must be in the mood 🙂
5
Usually 3-5. Have done 8 in January but I was ill and resting a lot trying to shake off a flu bug.
Am on #15
That’s constantly more than a book in two days! The awesome part about this is doing it ‘constantly’ in 28 days. That’s awesome! Impressed
Depends, if the book is 200 or 750 pages….
1.
My average is 10 but I’ve had a run of good books so I’m reading books 20 and 21 of this month?
So far this month, 19. Will probably finish one more before the 31st
I could read a lot more if I didn’t have to go out to work ☹️
Working on number 11 right now. That will dwindle down a lot once it gets nice out. Nice weather means more time with my 14 horses!!!!
Usually 2-3. My work schedule is so busy and mentally draining sometimes I can’t find the time. Wish I could !
1
I’m reading at least a book a day right now, just binged a trilogy in one… so At least 30
Wow!
This is interesting.
Do you have some tips on how somebody else can do the same irrespective of work schedule?
I always have a book with me, on my phone, on a tablet, on my computer etc. I read whenever I can (lunch at work everyday, doctors appointments, etc). I also noticed i read faster if I really love the book. So the trilogy I did in a day last week didn’t take as long as a normal book would because it was awesome.
i also read just for fun because if i set a goal, to me, it feels like work, I read for pleasure
Just curious, how many pages was the complete trilogy?
Each book was 300+, so roughly 900
Wow! Thanks for the tips @Harleen. The points really made a lot of sense….
Having a book always and the fun attached to reading.
A max of 2 a month. I’m a very slow reader.
Me too!
I average a book a week.
10ish
Depending on my homework load between 20-30
Wow really impressed by the numbers. I can manage 1 a month. But challenging myself to attempt at least 2 a month.
Maybe four or five. Generally one a week on the commute
1
4-5 but I read 7 this month.
I read 125 books last year so 10?
1 or 2, depending on the length and how much time I have. I am a teacher, so I definitely read much more during the summer
I can finish a book in two days if it’s really good so I could read 15 in a month but that wouldn’t be very good for my house… cause nothing else would get done!
I read two this month. Thats about what I can manage with time.
Mine is about 3. I find so many words and people and places to look up, and that slows me down.
Do u use kindle? It is faster because it is link to the internet and can search by highlighting.
3-4
I will listen to 1 audiobook a month during my drive to and from work and I try to read another book as well. So all together two a month give or take.
I did twelve once, but just once, and reading was my primary goal and activity for that month.
1-2
1-2
3
Usually one to two books.
15 on average.
Probably two.
Around 17-20
what?! How? lol I’m such a slow reader, how do I get faster?? How often do you read?
@Michele I read pretty much whenever I have free time during the day, including on my walk to and from work. ? It all depends on what I have planned that day, if I have plans with family or friends, I don’t read as much then. I’ve just always been a fast reader-sorry, I know that’s not much help!
4 or 5 a month for me…
3
4
I wish I read fast.
Me too
3-5 normally. Starting this year off on a different foot apparently
I have 40 pages left in one im reading and i can probably fit in another one before the month is up
4
Most months, one or two. This month I’ve read 8! But I’ve stayed indoors most days this chilly January. I credit my Kindle for just being able to read one after another. Because I certainly wasn’t trying to “go fast”
Use to be about one a week not I barely get through one
Ern… 84 so far. That’s about my average. Depends on how much work I pick up (and how much free time I have as a result)
You read 84 books per month?
Now it’s 89. It’s a freak ability I have for speed reading. This is on the high side cos I haven’t worked much in January so I had more time to read. When I have a day off I might go through 8 books.

omg!
@Gabbie That’s awesome and I hate you a little bit haha! I get through a book every two weeks (mainly because I work 60 hours per week minimum). It used to be a book a week, which everyone ooohed and aaahhed about, but now I have to kill myself because you’re so much more awesome. <3
Haha it’s really not particularly useful.
@Gabbie No but reading is my favourite thing in the universe! I could do MOAR of it?
I read 128 last year, so that averages to just over 10.5 books per month
7-9 books
Too many. I’d guess 7-15. I get very weird and antisocial sometimes and spend every night and weekend at home reading.
I’m weird and antisocial MOST of the time lol. I prefer books and dogs to people. I’m at 7-15 a month too
half a book
non-garden season: about 10, garden season, depends how often it rains. 😉
Depends on what I’m reading.
Only 1. 2 if om going hardcore and don’t have anything to do. rofl.
7-8
2016 i read 2 a week then last year i made more of an effort to be social n knocked it back to 1 to 2 a month. I am doing my masters though so i read all day. This year so far ive read 2.
I would say probably 2 books a month
3-4
I read most when my husband is at work (second shift) I used to read a lot in high school but got busy and didn’t read for several years. Then I got bored with tv when my husband started second shift 2 years ago.
in the winter anywhere between 12-17. as it warms up I’m more outside and less into the books. by summer, 2 a month
Fire season (my husband is a wildland firefighter and gone for long stretches) 10 or more. When he’s home, maybe 3-4.
I have read 7 so far this month.
sometimes only 1. Sometimes like 10… Depends on how long they are and how busy I am.
About 8 per month.
depends on books, time and how i feel
Jan I read 14 but I read some short stories and a couple audio. Not sure what my average is
According to my arbitrary judging rules, short stories only count if part of a collection, and talking books don’t count as reading. Feel free to disregard and go by your own count :p
2 on average per week, 3 on “good weeks”,
Depending on the workload, kids studies and if I’m beta reading, because then I take longer.
On holidays and vacations is when I’m able to read 1 per day 🙂
