sorry for your loss.. and glad u are finding Me time.. this has been horrible year lost dad in March and mom in June.. let’s add my 14 yr old puppy 3 weeks ago.. ready for 2018
So sorry, Lola, some years are bad. we were married 58 years so it is a big life change….but as one of my daughter’s said ” my mother can entertain herself”. LOL
I do try and read on my lunch hour. now when fall/winter come my seasonal job will stop and then I have career job and also do catering all for my plan to be debt free and not work til 90. house will be paid free and clear in under 2 years we will buy our new home free and clear and I plan on having a beautiful reading room. method to my madness
It depends on my health but anywhere between 2-5hours a day and 2-3 books a week depending on the length of the book. I do seem to read a lot of big books
I average a couple hours a day and one or two books a week. I still work full time, have five grandkids and four dogs all wanting some of my time. Perfect balance ?
2 books a month maybe 4 if I have time, I read a couple hours before bed or half a day if I’m off which is almost never, I’m a live in care giver and don’t have alot of time but I can’t give up reading because that’s my therapy.
Depends on what I have going on. I have two small children so reading is really limited to nap time and bedtime. Also depends on the books. I fly through some. On average, maybe two hours a day. 1-2 books a week.
I’m with you. I don’t have kids but some days are full and so are some weeks. What I have tried to do is set up Reading Friday. That I don’t watch tv or dvd’s all day just read.
Reading has been a struggle I don’t even read a book a month right now. But from tomorrow my youngest children are in school full time. So more reading time
I really envy those who read 1 or 2 books a week. Oh….how I wish I could. I can only manage 2 a month. With tons of house chores and cooking, its a struggle. I do read before bed but my eyes always betray me by forcing me to go to sleep!!
Goodness, when I read, that’s all I want to do and I can read a book in a couple of days. But other times it takes me weeks to pick up another book after finishing one and then I don’t get much reading done at all, lol.
@Dana I don’t skim – but whether or not I’ve acquired techniques over the years unknowingly, I’m not sure. I’ve always read quickly. A book usually only takes me 3-4 hours. Which is an evening of reading for me.
@Cassandra I thank my mom and God for my love of reading,, I was ADHD in school but in my day that wasn’t a thing. so I was sent to a great reading teacher that worked with me… and since then my reading skills have been amazing. My daughter also had ADHD in school and I got the proper attention to her learning disability they put her in a wonderful program and now she is also a huge fan of reading. Reading is an enjoyment like no other. I used to carry a book everywhere, now it is my kindle lol
Right now, I am reading on my Kindle and learning to quilt.. lol so I went to the library and they had free quilting books out for anyone to take so I have quite a few of those. Reading is a way to learn new skills, (not just in the bedroom for the naughty novels lol) but also anything you want to learn.
Maybe an hour or two a day. It’s my way of winding down. I have a 3 yr old and a 4 yr old (both boys), husband and full time job so my time is limited.
I usually try to read for 3-5 hours a day, but lately I’ve been having headaches that have been preventing me from reading for very long. I can usually average 2-4 books a week but I’ve been stuck on IT for a while
I try to finish a book in 4 days. Slow reader. I read in the mornings and sometimes in the evenings if I’m not busy with other stuff. Weekends I’m always reading. My best time
Maybe 2 hours throughout. I read about 3 books at a time, so it takes me longer than 1 week to get through one book, but I tend to finish at least 2 at a time in a 2 week period. (does that make any sense? LOL)
I’m a slow reader also. I usually read a couple hours a day. It really depends on the books how many I read in a week, some read quicker than others and sometimes I get through several books in a week and sometimes I can barely complete one, it just depends on my mood.
That depends very much. But minimum time per day is two hours. How many books is more difficult to answer. If I like the book in question, I can be fast and finish it in two days. If it bores me or is somehow demanding, it might take me up to one or two weeks to read . Average : two or three books per week.
Because of my busy schedule, i only get to read 2 books in a month…i guess i must be the slowest reader in the group 🙂
Naa.. I’m with you..
I’m retired, lost my husband last year , have health problems, so I read as much as I desire.
sorry for your loss.. and glad u are finding Me time.. this has been horrible year lost dad in March and mom in June.. let’s add my 14 yr old puppy 3 weeks ago.. ready for 2018

Ooh okay. Keep up the hard work then and all the best
Almost constantly. Joy of being invalid
I don’t have kids and don’t want them so I have lots of free reading time personally. 🙂 And i work in care so 12 hours shifts but 4-5 days off a week.
Depends on how tired I am when I get home from work! But on average, about two books per month depending on the size of the book.

When I am not writing, I read 5 to 7 books a week… when I’m writing, I try to read at least one ?
That’s a lot in a week! Lol
@Nay I read extremely quick. I wish I didn’t, because I usually want the books to go on forever ?
Do you speed read?
@Dana I don’t skim – but whether or not I’ve acquired techniques over the years unknowingly, I’m not sure. I’ve always read quickly. A book usually only takes me 3-4 hours. Which is an evening of reading for me.
I understand that. I had a book recently that I couldn’t put down and read it way too fast. I was sad when it was over.
I’m so jealous
1 book a week if it’s short books lol and if I’m in the car I could read for hours
1-3 hours a day. I average 2 books a week. I do listen to audiobooks during my commute
I’ve been so off lately but usually 2-3 books a week. Now I’m lucky if I can finish one book within a month 🙁
4 hours a day,,, and I average 11 books a week lol on my Kindle
I wish I could read faster.
@Cassandra I thank my mom and God for my love of reading,, I was ADHD in school but in my day that wasn’t a thing. so I was sent to a great reading teacher that worked with me… and since then my reading skills have been amazing. That’s awesome. Reading it more than just the act of reading. It can do so much good for a person.

I was lucky in some of my jobs, we were allowed to bring a book, if not I smuggled one in lol
@Rhonda There’s no way I could find time to read in my job ? I almost never get a lunch. ?
I envy those fast readers!
Slow reader here. One book per week ! :p
I’m a slow one to sometimes it one book a month
I am not a “slow” reader. I am a savourer lol
@Linda Tuplin true! The slower you read a line, the longer its flavour lingers in your mind <3
I usually try to read for 3-5 hours a day, but lately I’ve been having headaches that have been preventing me from reading for very long. I can usually average 2-4 books a week but I’ve been stuck on IT for a while
I work full time and have a family. I read about 2 hours a day and about 2 books a week. Wish I had more time to read. ???

Two to three hours night , unless I can’t wait to finish then it could be all night .
