Yeah last year I read 190 books and only 2 we rereads lol but this year there are like 20-30 books that I really want to reread so it will be a new experience for me!
I’m the same! That’s why I’m freaking out about wanting to reread so many books this year but the heart wants what the heart wants. I can’t help but feel guilty about all the never before read books that I am neglecting though.
I’m going to try and reread 12 this year. I didn’t reread last year and the pressures to get the newest, most hyped books is something I want to stay away from purchasing.
Hoo boy, a lot, like a lot, maybe 40% or so are rereads, because I have a phobia of starting a new book and hating it, so if I’m in the mood for a feel good book, I mostly stick to what I know and love rather than start a new journey that might suck, if that makes sense ?
So it looks like people aren’t reading new books. That would drive me nuts. Too many new books and authors to waste time rereading books. I read over 200 a year and my TBR list is still astronomical
Some of them are because I have some that are such favorites but there are so many good new ones always coming out that I want to read so it limits my rereads . I have started rereading the In Death series by J.D. Robb and am on book # 6 of the 45 book series … with book # 46 due out Jan. 30 . It’s a fantastic series and it will take me a while to reread them again because of so many others I want to read , but worth it .
This year it will be two. I finally, FINALLY bought the third book in a Dragonlance trilogy I’ve had since I was a preteen. Idk why I never bought the last book, but I did now, and can’t wait to reread the first too and finally finish a big story from my childhood ?
I can’t imagine what could have made you wait so long to finish it, but you’ll be glad to hear there are now more trilogies than just that one, so….you’ve got some catching up to do!!
Oh, I know. There seem to be hundreds of them! Lol I read the Twins trilogy too. The one I was missing was Dragons of Spring Dawning. I think I never got it because I went into a romance and manga kick in my teens and stopped reading fantasy for awhile. But I’m excited to read them over again and get lost in that adventure 🙂
Ha ha … fifty percent! I l enjoy revisiting my favorites. At least I know I’m going to love them, which is not always the case with new books, which are sometimes disappointing.
I reread when a new book comes out in the series. Other than that if I’ve been thinking alot about a certain book or want a break I’ll go grab something I’ve already read. I only buy books if I plan to read em more than once
I don’t have an average. It all depends on if I have money to buy new books, if any anything catches my attention or if I’m just in a the mood to re read any of my favorite books.
usually around 5, and they’re typically a kids book (like early chapter books) or easy comfort reads when I need a break from the more tedious things I have to read for school or something (like my favorite chick lit books)
Every year I tend to reread Little Women, A Secret Garden, A Little Princess and finally Beastly by Alex Finn. I don’t know what it is about those books but I have reread the first three every year from a youngster and still use the same copies. They are like old friends who I find comfort in revisiting x
Uh, yeah, on average 0-1, I don’t typically re-read books, every now and then the mood strikes. It’s interesting to me how many people do annual re-reads. (No disrespect, just interesting).
very rarely do I reread books, I’m usually too busy, but if I remember a great passage in the book I then reread a couple of pages, does that still count?
I usually re-read all the Harry Potter’s once or twice a year, the Twilight series at least once and I have started reading a book and about halfway through realized I read it before so if those count, lots and lots of re-reading over here.
Last year was 1
Yeah last year I read 190 books and only 2 we rereads lol but this year there are like 20-30 books that I really want to reread so it will be a new experience for me!
@Amy There are some books from childhood I might give a re read so might be more this year ?
I try to avoid rereading books because there’s too many other titles I want to spend my time reading ?
Me too!!!
I’m the same! That’s why I’m freaking out about wanting to reread so many books this year but the heart wants what the heart wants. I can’t help but feel guilty about all the never before read books that I am neglecting though.

It depends, if I’m in a funk that’s all I want to read are my comfort books, if it’s all good I’ll read new ones. Sorry not really a good answer.
Hoo boy, a lot, like a lot, maybe 40% or so are rereads, because I have a phobia of starting a new book and hating it, so if I’m in the mood for a feel good book, I mostly stick to what I know and love rather than start a new journey that might suck, if that makes sense ?
This is me too!
Glad to know I’m not the only one who thinks this way 🙂
I re-read ALOT! Last year I had 78 re-reads and 60 new books. This is an improvement as normally my re-reads are in the 90s with maybe 40 or so new ?
None. Too many in my tbr pile to backtrack!?
Very rarely because my TBR is so big. Maybe 1 or two, some years 0.
Zero. Could be one if it’s for a book club.
Probably about four.
None. My TBR list is to long
Maybe 1 or 2. Some years none. There are too many books in my tbr pile.
Well, I usually reread the Harry Potter books, so that’s 7. And last year I reread a series of 28ish books so…
A bunch. Especially when I have a book hangover and can’t get into anything new…
None
So it looks like people aren’t reading new books. That would drive me nuts. Too many new books and authors to waste time rereading books. I read over 200 a year and my TBR list is still astronomical
I read between 125 to 150 books a year.
1/2 – usually Wuthering Heights or Jane Eyre?
I don’t count rereads separately. It depends on my mood? Some years I reread a dozen books, some years I don’t reread any.
Usually none but over the last year I started to re-read old books I enjoyed
None or a few. This year, will be different. So will have to see… 6 for sure this year.
At least three, but it is usually quite high.
25% or so
1 last year
None
I have one book that I reread at least once a year. So probably one.

At least half
10-20 per year
To many to count.
90%
about 30% are re-reads.
On average, none. There are too many new ones I need to read, and the list grows faster than I can make a dent in it. It’s a lost cause.
None.
None
I average almost 150 books a year.I would guess maybe 5 are ones I’ve read before. Not sure I read anything last year that I had previously read.
Nil more or less. No time for re reads except on hols…
My TBR is so long… so I don’t normally re-read. Although I would like to revisit some favourites soon.
Some of them are because I have some that are such favorites but there are so many good new ones always coming out that I want to read so it limits my rereads . Not too sure. A couple of guess ..1 so far this year though

None, but this past year I reread 2 because a 3rd book was coming out for a series and I had forgotten a lot of the first two books.
A lot!!! I loveeee rereads ???
I reread when a new book comes out in the series. Other than that if I’ve been thinking alot about a certain book or want a break I’ll go grab something I’ve already read. I only buy books if I plan to read em more than once
Most of the time, none. I might re-read a few books this year though.
I don’t have an average. It all depends on if I have money to buy new books, if any anything catches my attention or if I’m just in a the mood to re read any of my favorite books.

It depends how many books I buy for the year but if buy the next book in a series I usually reread the whole series before starting the new book
30%
I don’t count the rereads and I read books many times so all of my reads last year which is listed at 204 is probably closer to 220
0%. I really like new stories and hate rereading.
In 2017, 10 of 64 was re-reads.
None
2 or 3 … Depending whether I manage to read the ones I read annually ??
Last year, 64-93 were rereads! Ha ha! Some books are just so good! It’s not always easy for me to find new good books. I’m very picky!
All of them, with a couple of new ones sprinkled in.
None. Except children’s books.
Zero
10 plus. I also listen to the audio versions of my favorites.
usually around 5, and they’re typically a kids book (like early chapter books) or easy comfort reads when I need a break from the more tedious things I have to read for school or something (like my favorite chick lit books)
I did 2 re reads last year there are too many books for me to read for the first time, so I try not to reread
None for me.
Maybe a series like Harry Potter or fallen series but most are new books
Every year I tend to reread Little Women, A Secret Garden, A Little Princess and finally Beastly by Alex Finn. I don’t know what it is about those books but I have reread the first three every year from a youngster and still use the same copies. They are like old friends who I find comfort in revisiting x
I reread Harry Potter each year.. that’s it.
1 every 3 years or so
Uh, yeah, on average 0-1, I don’t typically re-read books, every now and then the mood strikes. It’s interesting to me how many people do annual re-reads. (No disrespect, just interesting).
Probably at least 50% because I’m to lazy to buy more or go to the library. I really enjoy most of the books that I reread, so I don’t mind it.
No idea! Sometimes I just want that familiarity and still adventure like going back to my favorite place and finding new places within it.
Probably 2 on average, but I think 4 last year were rereads…one of them 3xs
80% of the books I read are re-read
Probably 2 or 3.
Rarely re-read
None.
None
one, maybe 2…
very rarely do I reread books, I’m usually too busy, but if I remember a great passage in the book I then reread a couple of pages, does that still count?
Maybe 1 or 2
Usually 0 but I’m rereading the Harry Potter series this year
Maybe one or two
Maybe 3 or 4. I like to reread A Christmas Carol each December.
I’ve been reading it every year since I was about 10 and now I get to read it aloud to my kiddo every Christmas
I usually re-read all the Harry Potter’s once or twice a year, the Twilight series at least once and I have started reading a book and about halfway through realized I read it before so if those count, lots and lots of re-reading over here.
None last year. I re-read The Dark Tower every 3 years or so.
As little as possible!
zero, rereads are extremely rare for me.
