These are my two favorites when it comes to King Arthur books. Le Morte D Arthur is hard to start at first, but imagery draws you in, and you get lost in the book. Mary Stewart’s books make the characters real. You easily fall in love with them. She makes the legend seem like that it could be real. I will have to read the series again. Lol. Thanks.
@Shayne She did more in the series. One was The Forest House and I think one was Priestess of Avalon. They were really good, but I think they were set before Arthur and told how Avalon came about. Excellent books.
@GM I wasn’t aware she wrote more. Several years ago I went through a King Arthur phase and read lots of books related to him. Thanks for the info. Think I will look them up.
Following
Le Morte d Arthur, and Mary Stewart The Crystal Cave series. It is four books, but all great reads.
Thanks. I’d already planned to read Le Morte D’Arthur, that could be a bit of a challenge, but the second suggestion is great too.

The New Camelot Series by Sierra Simone. American Queen, American Prince, American King. It is M/F/M…
AW, go old school. The Once and Future King by T.H. White
Yes, exactly! I think about it every day.
Agree!
The best
Very well
Mists of Avalon by Marion Zimmer Bradley.

Not a book but the movie, King Arthur: Legend of the Sword. Goes deeper in the direction of how the sword ended up in the stone. I liked that version.
The Once and Future King.
Pendragon Cycle by Stephen Lawhead
How is the pendragon series? Are there many epic battles or wars? I bought it but haven’t got to read it yet
@Scott there are some great battles. I love the series. My absolute favorite Arthurian story.
Sandi Tutolo Thank you. Sorry misread your response. I love Arthur and the concept of him. Wish there were more stories about him out there
Jack Whyte – Camulod Chronicles
