I’ll Be Gone in the Dark (Michelle McNamara) – and I slept with a light on last night ?
I listened to it! So fricking scary…true crime is WAY more terrifying to me. I still love it. Don’t judge me.
NOS4R2
??
It’s a book. By Joe Hill. Stephens son.
It’s NOS4A2. And yeah it’s his son. Everything by Joe Hill is great. Heart Shaped Box is really good. You’ll love him. Echoes of his dad but his own fresh voice too.
NOS4A2 in US/Canada
NOS4R2 in UK
I also definitely recommend this one if you like King. I read it in April & could hardly put it down!!!
@Tracey you’re right about the UK spelling! I totally forgot!
Why the different spellings???
This !!!
Yep different spellings. Who knows why. I think it’s because of pronunciation.

I liked The Death of Mrs Westaway. It’s not scary in the same way that Stephen King’s work is, but it was scary.
Chelsea Cain. Her books are terrifying. Start with the Archie Sheridan & Gretchen Lowell series. Heartsick is book #1. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/657034.Heartsick?from_search=true

Bird Box, The Troop, anything by Joe Hill, House of Leaves, The Ruins.
The Ruins!!! By Scott someone! It’s so great. The writing is a little meh here and there but it’s super terrifying.

House of Leaves is unsettling as hell. I also just discovered the author Ania Alborn. She’s awesome. I really enjoyed Within These Walls. Culty and messed up.
Adam Nevill is great — I especially recommend Last Days and The Ritual.
Anything by John Saul!
