I have never read a Stephen King’s book. Which one should I start with?I have never read a Stephen King’s book. Which one should I start with? Upasna #recommend
Start at the beginning. Carrie.
Carrie. I’m reading them in chronological order
11.22.63! That was my first king novel
This has been in my to read list
I read only one book of stephen king the shinning and its amazing you can read
Loved the movie. Would it be enjoyable if I have already seen the movie?
Well I have never seen movie so don’t know ?
The stand. I normally recommend other books but why not just go all in. Not only is it his best book, it’s also an all time favourite of many people. It’s long and it showcases everything king offers.
Joyland, The Stand, or Delores Claiborne. All good ones.
The Shining , Cujo , Carrie, The Stand, , Misery, Needful Things, Christine, IT, Under The Dome, Four Past Midnight, Skeleton Crew and pretty much all the rest of his works are amazing!
I have never read one either…
After all the suggestion, i am convinced that we should.
I loved The Shining!
Read the book then watch the movie. I do that with Poe as well…
Salem’s Lot, or Carrie would be best bet. Good to read them chronologically. My favorite author, hope you enjoy.
Start at the beginning with Carrie.
I read the shining first.
I am reading my first, The Stand and it’s awesome!
I am also planning to start with this!
Maybe I should start with this one too then!
Carrie. It’s brilliant.
Under The Dome
Same here but I watched the movies
I have watched The shinning and IT. Loved them

Whatever you do don’t read carrie, when i started reading Stephen king i picked that one up first cause everyone said it was his best one omg was i disappointed
Scary,The Stand. Non scary 11/22/63 time travel and my favorite King.
Thank you all for the suggestions! I am looking forward to read as many soon❤️
The stand, salems lot or the gunslinger
My first was the Shining and I’ve loved every book I’ve read since which is lot
I would start with one of his smaller ones, Carrie, Firestarter, or Christine
I liked insomnia
Needful Things is always a nice introduction I think.
I say go with Night Shift. Alot of short stories you will recognise in there plus there short stories so you can prepare for the love get stuff
I loved ‘Thinner’, but haven’t been able to read anymore of his books since then.
Is it a scary one?
Kind of, but not really. I was scared while I read the book, then I watched the movie and it wasn’t so bad.
IT or Pet Sematary … they touch upon primal fear
Carrie , start at the beginning of it all.
The Gunslinger, The Shining or IT.
I thought needful things was good as well
Just my opinion here (after reading a few of his) — a lot of his novels contain unnecessary details, so you might want to start out with one of his novellas (or as he calls them, “short stories” — even thought they’re 200+ pages). I loved Shawshank and am currently reading Gwendy’s Button Box. Read The Shining a few years ago. Also, I read his “bio” last year, On Writing, and really enjoyed it!
11/22/63. 1000 pages but well worth it. Historic fiction on Kennedy assasination. One of my favorites.
