The stand. I normally recommend other books but why not just go all in. Not only is it his best book, it’s also an all time favourite of many people. It’s long and it showcases everything king offers.
The Shining , Cujo , Carrie, The Stand, , Misery, Needful Things, Christine, IT, Under The Dome, Four Past Midnight, Skeleton Crew and pretty much all the rest of his works are amazing!
Whatever you do don’t read carrie, when i started reading Stephen king i picked that one up first cause everyone said it was his best one omg was i disappointed
Just my opinion here (after reading a few of his) — a lot of his novels contain unnecessary details, so you might want to start out with one of his novellas (or as he calls them, “short stories” — even thought they’re 200+ pages). I loved Shawshank and am currently reading Gwendy’s Button Box. Read The Shining a few years ago. Also, I read his “bio” last year, On Writing, and really enjoyed it!
Start at the beginning. Carrie.

11/22/63. 1000 pages but well worth it. Historic fiction on Kennedy assasination. One of my favorites.
