JK Rowling. Seriously? Just look at her public tweets over the years. Such a wise and beautiful soul. And I feel like my level of “respect” is at such a high because I’m NOT a fan of her writing. At all.
But I will always been a fan of HER. She amazes me.
I’d say Joe Hill because he had extremely big shoes to fill and he didn’t wanna ride on his dads success which is why he called himself Joe Hill. And then he came out with a book called. NOS4A2 and it was better then almost all his dads books and the best book I personally read in 20 years prolly.
Colum McCann – innovative writer for me, not afraid to explore interesting subjects and Richard Paul Evans – simple and captivating prose that doesn’t feel trite (to me anyway) and sneaks up on your heart-nothing fancy, just both different but great storytellers.

Her charitable efforts are more impressive than her writing.
@Joel exactly. Even if someone (like me) doesn’t enjoy her writing, she is still an amazing human being. ❤️
James Patterson because he’s managed to make a fortune by having other authors write books for him. The ultimate vindication of PT Barnum.
Terry Pratchett. Because he was just amazing.
Also HP Lovecraft, the pioneer of cosmic horror.

I absolutely agree with you
NOS4A2 is so good. I listened to it on my tablet. Kate Mulgrew did a great job narrating it.
I agree. That said, I’ve always wanted to ask him or his dad if he was named Joe on purpose…
The simple answer is all of them, because they’re published and I’m not.
To name a couple? Brian Keene (the Batman of the horror genre) and Robert Bloch for being a mentor to a generation of writers
Jonathan Gold, such a food enthusiast and awesome writer
Chris Bohjalian- his stories are different unique and hes he’s a terrific author
Matthew Reilly…. his books are always entertaining, fast paced action, and he’s a really nice guy, always has time for his fans.
Michael Cunningham
Amanda Hocking is an absolute mastermind and self editor and publisher
Lisa Scottoline
RL Stine – full of surprises
Colum McCann – innovative writer for me, not afraid to explore interesting subjects and Richard Paul Evans – simple and captivating prose that doesn’t feel trite (to me anyway) and sneaks up on your heart-nothing fancy, just both different but great storytellers.
Mamoon Yousaf and khaled Hosseini !
Steven king
Stephen king
Sir Terry Pratchett for staying on point in times of adversity
Bryce Courtenay – just a amazing gift as a storyteller & painting the picture needed to grab the readers emotions & draw them in ???
Martina Cole – I like her work and she came from this rough background herself, about which she writes.
Margaret Atwood her writing is sharp with the kind of scary that has the possibility of happening. Not that I want it to.
