I loved this book. The funny thing is that is his only book that I have read. LOL. It’s a hard sell though. No matter how I praise this book my friends have not read it. You are the first person who ever commented on this. LOL
Commentary on the Torah by Friedman. It’s a new translation of the first five books of the Bible with great explanatory notes by the translator, who has written other books about Jewish scripture. Eye opening.
A book that I would not have normally read if it had not been for recommdations in the group …. The Gargoyl … loved the style of writing….with an easy flowing read…
The best book I read was probably Homegoing by Yas Gyasi. But the book I loved best was Miss You by Kate Eberlen, a title I connected with personally and just really enjoyed overall.

I loved this book, too! I went through his hometown in October and tried to imagine his early life there.

I think it was The Greedy Queen by Annie Gray, a book about Queen Victoria and food. I would not say it was an outstanding year for new books though.
