Dedication and what most successful writers have said: stick to what you know as it will ring more true and impact readers more. And that applies to all genres. Like, if you know a lot about werewolf lore and are passionate about it, write about werewolves. It will feel real even if, as far as we know, they don’t exist.
It is really simple: 1. Read voraciously 2. Write everyday 3. Study grammar 4. Write your truth, don’t write to please others, but write what is inside you. 5. Don’t worry about popularity or sales.
Follow your heart. Read anything you like, magazines, books, essays, stories. It should be a passion. I like reading autobiographies because then I can relate with personal experiences of authors. English is a secondary language for me. I learnt this language largely by selfstudy and I feel native speakers ‘ll have better facilities to hone their writing skills.
One tbing not mentioned is that creativity has a genetic.basis. To be a good writer one must.be creative and one must then have the genetic.basis for the trait.of creativity.
Maybe read a lot of the genre you want to write about? Maybe practice? Just keep writing even if you or others don’t think it’s very good. Then eventually you’ll like something.
We all are naturally exceptional that part is effortless what is hard is writing that is great good gripping taking readers to wheres they never imagined before reframing all their life before THIS page.
You have got to have a passion for writing, for a start. I keep asking advice on writing and all I keep getting is “keep reading and writing” and that’s honestly the truth.
Absinthe, alcohol, heroine… oh wait, um… yes, I mean reading a lot, committing time to learning your art, a thick skin, and willingness to take and learn from criticism.
Practice, write as often as you can, read books in the genre you are writing for. Time, crafting and finding out what you want to tell takes time. Have patience dearest ❤
Time, patience, tenacity, a thesaurus, vocabulary, an understanding family, talent, luck, patience, people-watching, reading and more reading, lots of ideas, and it helps to be an introvert on the edge of depression.
On the edge, meaning they know the angst of their characters. All of my characters are going through something and I often go with them. You’ll notice I don’t add wine and cigarettes because I don’t use them. No, I think of myself as a therapist for my characters, so I’m not advocating depression, just being sensitive to the human (or non-human condition).

Everything
Be an exceptional reader.
Talent, dedication, and perseverance.
Diligence
90% hardwork
1O% intellect
just write your heart out
Only a good reader can be a good writer. Also one has to write as often as possible.
So, what do you mean by a “good” reader?
What does a “good” reader read?

Become a story teller in words, create interest, write relentlessly, edit often.
What makes you want to read a book? Those are the things
One tbing not mentioned is that creativity has a genetic.basis. To be a good writer one must.be creative and one must then have the genetic.basis for the trait.of creativity.
Humor, esp self depricating, for me.
Your ideas need to be better than your writing. If you don’t come with ideas for stories that will sell, you will never get traditionally published.
Read lots
Write lots
Edit lots
Reread
Re-edit
Don’t listen to advice that doesn’t sound authentic
Believe in yourself
Never give up
True..
A penchant for unnecessary capital letters.
????
Have a good story to tell and tell it well.
Write-write-write.
Talent, determination, luck,
Experience
Maybe read a lot of the genre you want to write about? Maybe practice? Just keep writing even if you or others don’t think it’s very good. Then eventually you’ll like something.
write- research (read)- cultivation…by writing.
Lots of hard graft
Don’t write because you have to. Just write.
A lot of talent and a lot of luck.
Becoming ‘successful’ takes luck, becoming exceptional demands creativity, vision and life experiences.

Passion, self confidence and determination. Talent is a bonus! 😀

You should really be my writing coach, which type of alcohol do you recommend when writing YA?

Insight and fearlessness
Talent.
Empathy, . . . a writer needs to be able to see the world from multiple view points, . . . to understand life journeys that differ from our own.
A sincere heart and a reckless soul.
Best advice ever❤
Loadz of Reading
Writing. Oh and lots of Cheez-its. No, really.
Time, patience, tenacity, a thesaurus, vocabulary, an understanding family, talent, luck, patience, people-watching, reading and more reading, lots of ideas, and it helps to be an introvert on the edge of depression.
I don’t want to read anything depressing by a depressed person.
I agree with Freud about the use of nicotine and cocaine as aids in writing.
While, cocaine is not legal , nicotine and caffeine ( a substitute for cocaine) are.

Grit! Guts! Gift! Grace!
I think to become an exceptional writer you need to capture your readers with your story.
Most of the books I read all the way through captured me in the first couple of chapters
Read. Read. Read. Read.
