@Jacinthe yes I am. Please don’t take this a bragging but I can read really fast and be done with a book that has three thousand pages in a day. I have always loved reading.
@Jacinthe my husband thinks the same thing. I can tell u what it’s about after I am done reading it. I enjoy reading books but I have done it since I was little. I can read about five books at the same time and tell u what they are all about
@Jeremy yes I totally agree with u. I stared reading when I was two so it’s been along time. And I will be 24 in June so I have been doing it along time.
@Jacinthe there is noting wrong with that as long as u like to read. I don’t use audio. It depends on how busy I am. At the moment I am only reading three right now.
Nicole Croll I started when I was 3 and have been at it for 46 years. 😉 I started tracking everything I read in 2007 and set a goal to try hit 1 million pages read by the time I’m 50. 72k pages to go!
@Jeremy thats not that bad. Good for you and keep up the hard work. Wow that’s an amazing goal. I might have to do that next yr. I hope u make that happen
@Jacinthe I read young adult, SciFi, Fantasy, and Thrillers. I hit used book stores and buy whatever looks interesting at the time. When I find a author I like, then I go hunting for all the rest of their books. I also use GoodReads groups and book clubs. They all do a ‘book of the month’ or focused reading. Also another good place to find book friends. Over time you find people with similar reading interests and can check their book list for new reads.
It depends entirely on what I’m reading. If I can get into it pretty easily, it will take about 40 minutes, if I’m really into the story it could be less, if I’m having a tough time staying invested, it could be an hour or a few days.
Depends on the book. I find how the type is laid out has a huge effect on me. I will usually fly through a book ( depending on its content) if the lines are further apart.
I am capable of reading light fiction at about 2 pages a minute (500-600 wpm) or 100 pages in 50-60 minutes. But, I don’t usually try to read quite that fast. I prefer a more leisurely pace. Most good fiction books have a lyrical tempo. I like to honor that. I read most novels in 4-5 uninterrupted hours of reading.
Depends on if my kids are home or at school. If they’re at school, it takes me about 30-35 min to read 100 pages. If they’re home, then a few hours or even a whole day.
Depends on book. 1-3 hours. I’m reading a book now that I pick it up. Read a couple paragraphs and put it down for 20 mins. I’ve read 2 chapters in 8 hours
@Tona nothing wrong with that. Ignore all these comments from people claiming they read 100 pages in an hour or less – maybe they do, maybe they dont – doesnt matter.
@Brian Thanks. I love to read. I just never have the time anymore. I’m a single mom working from home running Ops for a transcription company that I now part-own.
As others have said: it depends on a various factors – at least: type of book, size of book, intention for reading, etc.
30 years ago, I would have estimated about 100 minutes. Today, it is about 130 minutes.
When I used to tell people I read about 1 page per minute, they found it impressive. Today, I have been humbled by those who read faster than I ever did. Good for them!
1 hour
At least an hour
An hour ish.
Half an hour maybe longer
@Nicole you must be a fast reader
@Jacinthe yes I am. Please don’t take this a bragging but I can read really fast and be done with a book that has three thousand pages in a day. I have always loved reading.
@Nicole that’s crazy. It probably takes me an hour to read 100 pages. I can read faster but I like to take my time and enjoy the book
@Jacinthe my husband thinks the same thing. I can tell u what it’s about after I am done reading it. I enjoy reading books but I have done it since I was little. I can read about five books at the same time and tell u what they are all about
@Nicole I’m about in the same boat. I think a good part of it comes from starting at a very young age, and many, many, years of practice.
@Nicole I can only read one at time.. maybe two a physical audio but that’s as crazy as I get. How many books do you read a day?
@Jeremy yes I totally agree with u. I stared reading when I was two so it’s been along time. And I will be 24 in June so I have been doing it along time.
@Jacinthe there is noting wrong with that as long as u like to read. I don’t use audio. It depends on how busy I am. At the moment I am only reading three right now.
@Nicole what are they? I feel like we would get along and could be bookish friends. Can I send you a request? If not its cool

Yall blowing my mind
@Jeremy thats not that bad. Good for you and keep up the hard work. Wow that’s an amazing goal. I might have to do that next yr. I hope u make that happen
Do you guys follow a tbr month to month or just pick up what you feel?

I only read about 30 pages an hour lol
2 days or longer. I only read 50 pages a day. (If that)
An hour or so
Half an hr
It depends entirely on what I’m reading. If I can get into it pretty easily, it will take about 40 minutes, if I’m really into the story it could be less, if I’m having a tough time staying invested, it could be an hour or a few days.
Depends on the font size, line spacing, and type of book I’m reading. The more into it I am, the faster it goes. Roughly 30 to 40 minutes.
Depends on the content, font, etc
All depends on the book. Sometimes it will take less than an hour, sometimes a week.
Usually one to two days
Under an hour
Depends on the book. I find how the type is laid out has a huge effect on me. I will usually fly through a book ( depending on its content) if the lines are further apart.
I do 50-60 pages an hour, so probably 2 hours, an hour and a half if I get really involved and focused.

Between 1/2 to 1 hour average. Depends on book.
Depends on book. 1-3 hours. I’m reading a book now that I pick it up. Read a couple paragraphs and put it down for 20 mins. I’ve read 2 chapters in 8 hours
10 -15 minutes depending on how many words per page
@Peter there’s no way your reading 100 pages in 10 minutes.
That’s 2000-3000 WPM. Impressive!
Depends on how much time I have and how into the book I am.
I read like 70 pages/hour, but usually I just go with 1page per minute – so 100 minutes ?
45 minutes maybe? I read 150 pages an hour!
Three months and counting so far 🙁
@Tona nothing wrong with that.
Ignore all these comments from people claiming they read 100 pages in an hour or less – maybe they do, maybe they dont – doesnt matter.
Read at your own pace
@Brian Thanks. I love to read. I just never have the time anymore. I’m a single mom working from home running Ops for a transcription company that I now part-own.
@Brian is it only me who thinks some people hugely exaggerate their numbers on these comments?
Entirely depends. Between 30 min-2 hours depending on if it’s something lightweigt or say the Aenid which is what I’m reading now.
Depends on book
As others have said: it depends on a various factors – at least: type of book, size of book, intention for reading, etc.

I’m slow. 3 hours or so.
A couple of hours maybe
About half an hour I guess
Depends on too many factors.
Also, ive never paid attention to that
Prob like 1.5 to 2 hours..
It depends on the book cuz I somehow read a 400 page book in half an hour and finished it ?
10-20 mins if gripping…
10 hours if boring and prescribed reading material
As I read before going to bed, I can only read 10 – 15 pages before my eyes feel like lead.
100 mins approx
Depends how fast you read. It doesn’t take me very long. Plus for me it depends on how interested I am in the story.
When I’m really into a book I can read for hours without taking a break. If it’s a good book but not really that gripping it can be a few days.
100 days
Couple hours
If I’m into it 1 to 2 hrs
No clue….
It depends on the author of those 100 pages.
About an hour
About an hour
it may could take me 3 hours
About 100 minutes.
A day
I never time it but I can read an entire book in a day if I don’t have anything else to do
About an hr if im not interrupted and story is compelling
I roughly read a page a minute, but depends on the size of the book, page size & print size. With kindle it’s about 2-3 pages per minute.
Depends on how interested I am in the book. If it’s grabbed my attention, probably about 30-45 min. If it’s an ok kind of book closer to 1-2 hours
Around 45 min to 1hr
Usually 1-2 hours, although closer to the 1-hour side. In general, I’m a pretty fast reader, but I’m not a speed reader.
Depends on the book.
