Is it gruesome or disturbing in a can’t get images out of your head sort of way? The trailer really looks but I’m worried I might not be able to handle it, and I’m hoping the book would be less scary maybe?
The trailer looks like they changed a ton… so take that as you will. It’s difficult to say until I’ve seen it but generally in this case it’s better to watch the movie first so you’re less likely to be annoyed by differences.
I just watched the movie. It’s very different from the book, so it probably doesn’t really matter which you choose first. They are both good in different ways. The movie actually improved a lot of things, but it did mess up a few things as well… but overall most of it was good.
@Becca ahhh gotcha. My MIL turned it on yesterday while i was reading. (A different book) and next thing i knew i was starring at the tv and couldn’t stop watching lol i really wanted to read the book first, but i could not turn my head. Lol
Of course!! ?
is it really good?
Yes!!!
I am about halfway through it right now, and I like it. 🙂
Yes you should.
Yes! The book had me on the edge of my seat! Strongly recommend
I’m having the same dilemma lol it’s on hold at my library but I kind of want to watch it first.
Oh yes! I read it last year as soon as I found out there’s going to be a movie adaptation ?
Yes!! It’s so good!

Yes, it’s a good, quick read!
I tried to read it and I couldn’t get into it. But I have been thinking of giving it another chance…

@Becca does the book give more explanation than the movie or are they just completely different?
@Tori there is no explanation given in either. I see it as a Lovecraftian thing.
