Give The Stand a shot. Which version do you have, the original or the one where he added a bunch of stuff back in and updated the dates? Either are good, but the updated one feels less… outdated.
Also The Once and Future King is wonderful! My IRL book group read “H is for Hawk” followed by TH White’s “The Goshawk” and it pushed me to read Once and Future. Delightfully dry humor and magical storytelling.
I liked it a lot, but I was alive in ’63. I think part of the appeal for me was re-visiting that era. I was a child so it was interesting to match up my fragmented memories with his tale.
Yep… I ended up putting it down in the last half of the book – mainly because he didn’t get to the damned point.
?????
That book was worth reading just for the descriptions of the food.
Oh look. I am a time traveler, and I am surprised when my changes to the timeline have unintended consequences.
That book is amazing!!!!
I may quit.
I loved it. The only Stephen King I have read.
I enjoyed it, the first Stephen King I have read since Misery, but if it’s not for you, put it down. Life is short and there are lots of other books
I liked it. Ending was good.
To each their own. I loved it but if we all liked the same books, life would be boring.
I may let this one go. I am less than half done but I feel like I have been reading it forever. ( So, like…a whole week. Lol)
One of my favorites!
Well, I just read the synopsis on Wikipedia.
I am now free from this.
I love time travel stuff, but I need a new genre. Lol
I’ve read it three times. ?
Me too. Plus listened to the audiobook on a long drive.
Me too!
Fwiw, I read all of Under The Dome…
Now THAT one ticked me off, lol… I barely finished it.
Same. Like…good grief.
I like SK’s stuff but there are some real stinkers in there. And he admits he suffers from, I think he calls it “Elephantiasis” when writing.
Up next…The Stand by King, or The Once and Future King by T.H.White, which was my favorite book in the 8th grade…

Stephen King’s “Hearts in Atlantis” is my favorite by him. I liked 11/22/63, but like most of King’s stuff, it gets to be a mess.
I loved it…had given up on him years ago but lived this and Dr. Sleep
Hulu has a pretty good version of it if you can’t get through the whole book. I loved the magic hamburger and the ending was pretty good. Loved it.
I loved it so much!
I enjoyed it but it took awhile for me to get into it. Just happened to be in Dallas as I finished it which made it more ibteresribg.
I loved it
Just finished the book..I enjoyed it.. Then I watched the Hulu series and naturally the series was different than the book..
Hulu? Did you mean to say Netflix? I believe they made a movie and a series about it.
In my area it was on Hulu..m
Oh ok. Sorry. I have seen other people say Hulu on here. My mistake!
????
Really? I loved that book!
Best book ever
One of my faves!!
I couldn’t finish “The Stand” too much religious reference
11/22/63 is the only King book I didn’t like. Never could finish it. But the Hulu series was good. ?
Omg I hated the series!!! Soooo badly acted! Blah
It was a little dramatic ?
Just watched the series and thought it was great! The book is in my TBR pile.
Don’t give up on it
Did’nt like it. Ridiculous.
It was one of my favorites!
Loved it
Great book!
Best book I’ve read in a year!!
Loved that book! Awesome!!
(It’s completely ok to NOT finish a book you’re not enjoying.)
Oh, I know. I think this is like the 4th one I’ve quit this year. LOLOLOLOL
Sounds like the book isn’t for you. I did love it, though!
