Currently reading 11/22/63 (first SK book for me) and I’m a smidge over halfway thru- it’s interesting but I’m kind of waiting for the other shoe to drop though.
One of the only ones I did not buy the day it came out because after reading what it was about, I didn’t think I would like it. I was wrong. It was great
Guess what? I’m reading 11/22/63 and I too am 3/4 of the way through.I’m waiting for “the shoe to drop” and I’m getting bored with it. I was never a Stephen King fan and I think I know why
i am surprised, there is a discussion about the worst books one has ever read, and Stephen King tops the list while he is the wealthiest writer. i ONLY read Fire starter , AND DECIDED to read his memoirs- ON Writing.
@Givemore the thing is it is all personal opinion. I don’t happen to like stephen king writing style but I don’t think I would clarify him as the worst
On Writing is good. He’s not the worst writer although I think there are some people who may never like his work. He took my imagination to the underside of my bed. As in the reason I keep my feet tucked in bed at night. ??
Love the stand , read it for the first time this year and it’s one of my favourite books now – in my top 10? dystopians are one of my favourite topics though so maybe I’m a bit biased?
we spent a summer listening to 11/22/63 for about an hour a day at the beach. By the end we would drive around afterward so we could continue to listen. We really enjoyed it.
Haven’t read 11/22/63-but can say The Stand is absolutely one of the best books I’ve read-Have read it several times and it means something different everytime I read it. Most people will know what I mean.
Couldn’t read either one fast enough. Is it as good as The Stand? I want to lean toward The Stand as the better novel as I was just discovering the wonder of King’s writing. 11/22/63 comes along some 35 years later and … it blew me out of the water. Would have to say a toss up. Both superb.
The Stand is awesome! I have 11/22/63, but I haven’t read it yet.
Thanks for the response, I appreciate it 🙂

DNF 11.22.63
Thanks for the response, I appreciate it 🙂
The stand is amazing, the first half is phenomenal.
I did start the other one and it’s also good, I think it appeals to Americans more than anyone else since it’s about JFK.
But keep in mind, SK alwayd ends his books in a weird way, not that they’re good or bad. Just weird.
Thanks for the response, I appreciate it 🙂

I have the regular and to original that is longer than the first and it still my favorite book by him but the Green Mile is creeping up there.
I read the green mile last week for the first time. It’s excellent, like yourself the stand is my favourite but the green mile isn’t far off?
Both are great! 11/22/63 is not horror but time travel. The Stand is horror.
I’ve just read the Stand and it’s an amazing book!

Love the stand , read it for the first time this year and it’s one of my favourite books now – in my top 10? dystopians are one of my favourite topics though so maybe I’m a bit biased?

Yes, both are good. The Stand is one of my all time favourites.
Two of my favorites
The Stand is good… There are some slow spots.. But it makes up for it when it picks back up.?
The Stand has a nonsensical ending that negates the more than 1000 pages that come before it. 112263 was okay.
Yes!
Yes to both.
Extended edition of The Stand is amazing ?
LOVED 11/22/63. Couldn’t get into the Stand, which is odd for me because I really like King. I’m going to try the stand again though.
If you can, try it as audio book… I think that is what I’m going to have to do with the Dome.
@Randy I loved the audible version

My top 2 Stephen King books, and he’s my favorite writer for the last 28 years, since I first read The Stand.

Yes, The Stand is my favorite, but the are both very good.
Fantastic.
Both excellent
Both are excellent!
both r excellent
I’m curious when someone says something is excellent what do they mean other than “I liked it”?
The degree to which they liked it. Saying it’s excellent implies that it was an above average book, they liked it more than others.
I think “excellent” means, for me, that it really can’t be improved. When I think of a book as excellent, I mean I wouldn’t change anything about it.
Better then good?
I loved them both. They are two of his best books.
Yes. Excellent.
Yes
They both are awesome!
I must be an odd one. I did not care for 11/22/63. I only read maybe a 1/3 of it and then put it down.
