For me, Duma Key was fabulous and The Tommyknockers was a tough read. However, Stephen King could write a restaurants menu and I’d stop what I was doing to read it.
King quit drinking half way through writing The Tommyknockers. Sobriety is a good thing, but he lost the tone of the book. The latter half and ending are terrible. Duma Key wasn’t that great either
Tommyknockers was a hard read for me; I felt King was struggling to keep the story cohesive. On the other hand, Duma Key remains on of my favorite; the character development was spot on and the story flowed well
Yes to both.
