@Meghan I would recommend Brandon Sanderson’s The Stormlight Archives. Of course, Rothfuss is literary fantasy, meaning his work really focuses on the beauty of language. Sanderson is known for his excellent world building and amazing magic systems. His stories are so good. Sanderson is my absolute favorite author of all time. Now, if you’re looking for something free, PM me and I’ll tell you more about my own epic fantasy, Mother of Rebellion. It’s in the advanced reader stage, so if you live reviewing, you can get a free ecopy of it.
Lightbringer series by Brent Weeks, everything Robin Hobb, The Shadow of What Was Lost by James Islington, The Tethered Mage by Melissa Caruso, The City of Brass…. I could go on for quite a while.
Thanks for asking this question. My tbr list is growing by leaps and bounds. I have a limited experience with epic fantasy but I love Patrick Rothfuss and wondered where to go from there.

The Fever series is fantastic! There are some adult themes in it. I am currently reading the Darkest Minds series and it’s good so far (I’m on book 2) The Wicked series is good (also some adult themes) Inkworld series Sea of Ink and Gold Creepy Hollow series A Song of Ice and Fire (adult themes) Bloodlines series and/or Vampire Academy series The Grimm Legacy I also really enjoyed the Sookie Stackhouse books 🙂 The Iron Fey series The Thirst series
The Inheritance Cycle series is amaaaazingg!! It’s written by Christopher Paolini <3 It's all about dragons, dragon riders, elves, dwarves and MAGIC AND ADVENTURE! <3 There are four books in the series and it's really worth it.
Love is Red by Sophie Jaff is delightfully dark and sort of a magical realism meets thriller (it’s not super romantic despite the title) Borderline by Mishell Baker is so fantastic, it’s also a sort of real-world-urban-fantasy thing with fairies and the main character survives a suicide attempt, loses both legs, battles openly with Borderline Personality Disorder and also is part of a team that deals with fairy muses in Hollywood. It’s a full series of three books and is awesome.
What kind of fantasy?
@Brianna high fantasy or epic. I just finished the name of the wind
