One for the money was really funny. I also liked sophie kinsella books. If you are looking for new adult romance I loved Wallbanger. It’s the only book I actually LOLd outloud I may have even snorted lol.
For something different and totally delightful read Hold Me Closer Necromancer by Lish McBride. Lovable characters, funny & it has its own fabulous playlist. I gave it to a friend whose wife banned it from the bedroom because he kept laughing out loud and waking her up. The sequel is great too. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/8041873-hold-me-closer-necromancer?ac=1&from_search=true
@Nada I just finished this book and absolutely loved it (as in like 30 minutes ago lol)!! I stumbled across is randomly, and so glad I did! I don’t suppose you have any similar recommendations?
@Randi what a coincidence! ? I loved it too so much, well there’s sophie Kinsella’s “Surprise me” and “My not so perfect life” hilarious novels, and i just ordered “the kiss quotient” by Helen Hoang i saw some positive reviews and they definitely see similarities with the hating game
Good Omens by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman is very funny, Bill Bryson’s travelogues, the Dirk Gently books by Douglas Adams, Three Men in a Boat by Jerome K Jerome, anything really by Mark Twain. I’m reading a comedy crime solving medieval monk series which is excellent by Geoffrey of Warwick, about Brother Hermitage who is an innocent in a world of pornographic weavers and William the Conqueror, which I’m loving.
Six Geese A-Slaying by Donna Andrews, it’s in the middle of a series but holds up well on its own and is perfect for the season. An added plus is there is a whole series if you enjoy it!
Also, for fun(ny), light and a good read, I recommend Terry Pratchett’s Death series (Mort, Reaper Man, Soul Music, Hogfather and The Thief of Time). Actually, any Terry Practhett is like that, but I love this little series in particular.
@Lisa I’ve read the Witches series right after the Death series and, for some reason, I’ve found them more serious rather than funny. I mean, yes, Nanny and Granny are a bomb together, but Granny’s “moments”in every book turned it serious (and philosophical), in my opinion. Masquerade was hilarious because of Nanny, for example. All books were hilarious because of Nanny Ogg, I think… Still a funny series, though.
Hincu Larisa I totally get what you mean, Granny became very serious in later books, I think all of his books did. In Witches Abroad, Granny Weatherwax relaxes on holiday, sort of, and the whole thing has a sunny feel. And obviously Nanny Ogg gets drunk and sings The Hedgehog Song. And there are pumpkins, and a magic wand that the Fairy Grandmother doesn’t know how to use. And lots of lovely Dwarf Bread ??
Anything by Fannie Flagg.
Lorna Landvik!
Sex lies & chocolate cake by Stephen Morris. Very short funny story x
War and Peace

You’ll Grow Out of it
Wait. Is that the name of a book? Or are you saying she’ll get over wanting to read those types of stories? ?
