Miss Fortune series by Jana DeLeon or Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich are a couple of my favorites.
I liked My Not So Perfect Life by Sophie Kinsella.

Three that had laughs in them in spite of some serious topics were Regrets Only by Erin Duffy; How Hard Can It Be? by Allison Pearson; and The Book of Polly by Kathy Hepinstall.
I second The Book of Polly. Really enjoyed that one.
