I liked it. It’s very different – which was one of the things I liked about it. It almost seemed like 2 books – the part that takes place at the school and the after school part. It’s not a perfect book but makes you think.
I really liked it too! I didn’t realize it was kind of “sci-fi “ before I stared to read it and had I known, I wouldn’t have chosen it. I’m glad it did. It was different from anything I’ve ever read and I really enjoyed it.
Well I guess it’s not really sci-fi. But I usually don’t like things that in my mind really can’t happen. I refuse to read Harry Potter ? but I still REALLY liked this book
I’m in the middle of it right now. Not what I expected but didn’t really know much about it. I’m enjoying it because it’s different from what I normally read.
Excellent. But if you read it, put yourself in the author’s hands and just read. What’s going on will be revealed, don’t try to figure it out. The author starts with a tight focus and slowly pulls back as the story goes on. Just trust the author and go along for the ride. Well worth it.
Here we go again. It’s one of the most intelligent books I’ve read. It’s brilliance is depressing but seriously brilliant. We are born have expectations of future love and redemption and we die. Everything in the middle is an illusion.
An amazing book, one that lives with me for many years. The writing is beautiful, of course, and the story line thought-provoking and pulls at your heart, as well. ENJOY it!
My feelings about it are complicated, but I think it is delicate, and depressing, but still beautiful in a gut-wrenching way. The characters’ reconciliation to their fate and the terrifying institutionalization of the premise are haunting. Great read.
I know it’s popular, and I typically like this author. As an ancient reader, though, I found the plot both trie and telegraphed. It’s well-written, however.

Really? Wow I didn’t know that. I might have to bump it up in the list.

One of my very favorites. I don’t think of it as sci-fi but more a “speculative” fiction. spe-fi?
It wrung me out but it is in my top five favorites.

I loved it, too. And I loved the movie.
Liked it, the voice was compelling.
It was required reading in grad school for narrative theory. I loved it. It’s captivating.
A real treat. Clearly a dystopian novel with a change of pace. Terrifying premise. Enjoyed it immensely.
The title belies the novel. Hard to remember because it seems so romance novel-esque.
Wonderful book! We teach it to our AP senior English classes.
It’s dystopian literature.
Disturbing but I couldn’t put it down
I wasn’t entirely satisfied with the resolution, however, it is beautifully written and I was captivated by those characters.
Heartbreaking and beautiful
The movie was so disturbing.

It pulls you and will never let you go! I read it years ago and it still haunts me.

Loved it.
I thought it was ok….
I’m afraid I persevered with this book but found it tedious and disappointing.
Oh, great read. Fantastic actually.
Beautiful writing, it still haunts me years later.

Very good, very haunting.
not my usual read, kinda slow but still a good book nonetheless
I couldn’t finish it…it creeped me out too much…
Definitely recommend. It is interesting and sad ?
I thought it was really good. Thought provoking and I cried during reading ??
Really, really liked it. ?
Watched the movie last night on Netflix. Got a different focus on the love affair.
I brought a friend to see it when it came out and she was so pissed said it was the most DEPRESSING movie she ever saw

One of my all-time favorite books. It left me breathless.
Love it! One of my favorite novels of all time. Not sure how to elaborate on that.
