Well, at the time I really thought it glorified some really horrible people. I was quite the young idealist in 1972 and just didn’t want to see monsters “humanized”. Also the horses head scene upset me for weeks. Months, even.
Just once. It was published when I was a teenager, and a copy was passed around school with a particularly steamy sex scene marked. So, of course, I read the entire novel. But just once.
I read it many years ago. Before the film came out. The film is one of the few based on a book that is much better than the book…. Probably because it is still always in the top two on critics list of 100 best films every. It is indeed that good.
Never counted !
I haven’t, actually.
Only once, but now ask how many times I have seen the film.
I think more than ten times
Only once so far. But the film is one of my favourites! “A man who doesn’t spend time with his family can never be a real man.”
Never and I hated the movie.
why?

Now I see your answer and I am also upset for the head of horse. I know that it is the real horse head from the movie introduction.
What?! That is real…?
🙁
Only once but I got a heck of a sunburn bc I was sitting in the sun back in the day and it was so good I lost track of time.
Haven’t read it. Saw the film once, it was okay but not really my kind of film, and Marlon Brando mumbles a lot.
You can try to read the novel then you will get more details than the movie

I think that movie is more famous than the novel
It’s one of the few examples of a movie being as good as/perhaps better than the book, in my opinion.
I read it a few times. Many years ago, when I was a teen.
Just once, because my dad told me it was one of the few books he’d ever read/liked.
Once
Read it once and loved it! Even the movie and the last sequel.
Just once! Maybe I need to read it again,
A few
It’s been on my TBR list forever!
I’ve read it twice.
The plot, family, topic is dark but the writing is so good.
read it once and it was very interesting.
Read it once when the movie came out.
3 or 4
I read it my senior year. And I own all the movies. I also own other stuff that he wrote but I haven’t read it, yet.
Once, shortly after it was published. Good novel, good movie.

0 – but always intrigued whether it’s one that I would like!
