Has anyone read The Stand by Stephen King?Has anyone read The Stand by Stephen King? Sandra #questionnaire
My favorite King book.
I liked it! Read it many years ago and I still think it’s one of Stephen Kings best.
I read it back in 1980 – Scary stuff !!!
Loved the book. They did do a very nice job with the movie too considering the complexities of such a big novel.
It’s SO good!
I’m actually about to start that for my Halloween read!
Oooh this makes me want to only read Stephen King during October!
I couldn’t finish the book my second time around but I love both movies
If you haven’t read it, your life is not complete. ? imho!
Many times. It’s a favorite.
I read it years ago but I loved it. It’s very long though.
Tried and put it down, good plot but he became very repetitive and I was Iike just get on with it.. may try again one day
multiple times, one of my favorites of his
my all time favorite
One of my favorites! I have the original in hardback and the revised on audio
My favorite by him.
Read it for the first time a couple of months ago. Really enjoyed it.
Five times. One of my favorites!
Absolutely read it!
First time took me a bit to get into so I put it down (100 pages in) picked it back up a few months later and i couldn’t put it down!! Definitely worth the read!!
Will tackle it soon. Getting new reading glasses today after cataract surgery. This book is in my tbr stack and came highly recommended by my niece.
Yes!!!!! My FAVE Stephen King book of all time!
Re-reading it now!
One of my long time favorites!
Excellent read. I would highly reccomend it.
His best book IMHO
…and it links to the Dark Tower series.
Most of his later works link together. It’s pretty neat seeing a character randomly pop up
Agreed. I love the way he interconnects his works.
long ago in a galaxy far away…galaxy recliner, that is…enjoyed it very much.
One of my favorites!
yes the extended and the shorter version Loved them both.
Yes! One of my Top 3 books of all time.
It is a great book!
It’s a great book. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it
One of my favorite reads ever. I think the 1980 Edition is better, but the 1990 re-write is good to see how things changed. The additional material does not make the book any better. Just more story.
I’m looking forward to reading it.
On Chapter 23/page 219 right now
Somewhat dated, but my favorite of his
One of my faves I have read it twice in my life so far. I get something out of each read.
It’s been one of my favorites.
I couldn’t finish it after about 1/2 of it. It just didn’t impress me like some of his others. Some of his I absolutely HATE, like The Girl Who Loved Tom Green or whatever that one was…some I LOVED like Pet Semetery, Gerald’s Game & The Green Mile .
No but I have the dvd and just watched it a week ago. It’s a fabulous movie so the book must be awesome!
I read this in high school in hard back unabridged version lol it was like carrying a brick around school. Great book I loved it !
Yes, it’s a huge read but so good!
No but i get my glasses towwwrow so i can read a book finnally
Read the uncut edition.
Yes, loved it!
Yes it’s awesome. I actually just picked up the tv series on DVD which is surprisingly good
Just started reading it last night for the 1st time,I’m reading the uncut version
Yes, well worth the read.
His best in my opinion.
OMG!!! One of my FAVORITE Stephen King novels. I’ve read that book several times and then invested in the extended version when it came out. All very excellent.
I really enjoyed the TV episodes as well. I believe it was the first time I’d seen Gary Sinise act. (They’ve talked about making a movie but I honestly don’t think they could do the book justice in two hours.)
Anyway, if you haven’t had a chance to read it, it’s definitely worth the time invested.
The best he ever wrote.
Currently listening to it on audiobook – very long winded, but story seems good so far!
In my tbr
Yes. Great book
I am about half way through the extended version and I am really liking it. I didn’t realize it was written so long ago until one of my friends told me. Its taking me a while since its around a thousand pages give or take.
Its such a long book you start to live there in your head. It’s a culture shock when you’ve finished and are back in the here and now. ?”Where did all these ppl come from? ?
@Gauge I sure am anxious to see what this “Dark Man” is all about. 🙂
One of his best!
Working on it
Read it years ago. It was ok. I’d read it again if my TBR stack isn’t so big. Once I read it I need to move on.
No but I want too
I’ve read it 2-3 times. I obviously thought it was very good. Many people think it’s King’s best book.
Yes. Long. But a great novel!
It’s my all time favorite book.
One of my faves!
Read it in high school. Loved it for the first three quarters, then it got to weird for my taste.
No but just today my hygienist was telling its a must read!
I’ve read it it and enjoyed it.
that’s where I got my daughter’s name from.
I have mixed feelings about it. I think overall I loved it but there where some little things that happened that irked me or I thought weren’t written well
In my top five favorite books!
Yes – It is a classic!
3 times. First time the “edited” version. Full version the other 2 times. Might try a 4th time but I always have a lot of books I want to read.
The Audible version is bound to be a fun way to experience it
@Marie yes. The last time I did her it as a book on CD.
Yes I have took a very long time I’m not a fan of his writing
Yup. Great book!
One of my favorite King books!
