I loved the movie, but they toned down Annie’s character quite a bit in the movie…if you can believe it. She’s actually much more sadistic in the book. It’s one of my favorite books.
The book it’s much more into the back grounds of the characters. It’s much more drawn out and can seem tedious or building in intensity depending on how you perceive it. Plus you get the whole “Misery” book series back story ????
It’s been several years since I read the book, but seems it pretty much follows the book…
That’s what I thought I just recently watched the movie so maybe now I’ll wait a couple of years before reading the book! Thanks!
Pretty closely, I think. Both are great. Misery is one of the few films based on King’s work that I enjoyed.
The book is even better than the movie (and I liked the movie).
never saw the movie, but loved the book.
You would enjoy the movie too. ?
The movie is really good!

I read it too many years ago to remember, never watched the movie.
I consider it part of feminist lit! Very much worth the read.
Good read. Close to the film.
The movie was quite similar to the novel, and both were excellent!
One of my favorites, both the book and the movie.
Loved them both. The movie is one of my favorite book adaptations
very well written.

Misery was the first book that I read that had a story… inside of a story. Sounds strange, but you’ll understand after you read it!
The ending is different, she cuts his feet off in the book but only breaks them in the film.
@Ruby omg, just when I thought it could get any worse! That movie scared me to death.
I don’t remember that!
I can’t believe I forgot. Well, yeah…I read the book years ago. Watched the movie several times. That would explain it.?
Spoiler…
@Brandy I have never been spooked by a book before but that one did it for me.
Both are excellent
