Alot of people seem to like her, and she’s big in the forensic community. I tried reading her series and eventually was forcing myself to continue. I just didn’t enjoy her writing style and storytelling. It was almost like she didn’t know how to interact with humans. ?
Yes I absolutely love her. She’s my favorite author. I’m obsessed with her Scarpetta series. Which starts with PostMortem. I’d suggest giving her a chance. Here’s the book list if you’re interested http://www.patriciacornwell.com/books/catalog/scarpetta-series/
Have you read Kathy Reich’s / Karin Slaughter / Kathryn Fox / Tess Gerritsen – all along a similar vein and a few have been adapted to tv. Bones (Reichs) and Rizolli & Isles (Gerritsen). Karin Slaughter’s are probably my favourite, her Grant County series is amazing.
I really liked her earlier Scarpetta books, here is the reading order:
Postmortem (1990) Body of Evidence (1991) All That Remains (1992) Cruel and Unusual (1993) The Body Farm (1994) From Potter’s Field (1995) Cause of Death (1996) Unnatural Exposure (1997) Point of Origin (1998) Black Notice (1999) The Last Precinct (2000) Blow Fly (2003) Trace (2004) Predator (2005) Book of the Dead (2007) Scarpetta (2008) The Scarpetta Factor (2009) Port Mortuary (2010) Red Mist (2011) The Bone Bed (2012) Dust (2013) Flesh and Blood (2014) Depraved Heart (2015) Chaos (2016)
YES, YES & YES!!!!!!! The best of it’s kind. Her earlier books were unbelievable. After finishing one, I could not wait to start another. The newer ones, not so much. (you should read them in order though)
Yes, I have read them. Yes, I enjoyed them. Yes, I recommend them. The earlier ones are better. The later ones seem a little like a fill-in-the blanks formula.
Yes and even though they are a series you can miss a couple and not miss to much. I was hooked after the first one. I gave one to a friend now he’s hooked too
Loved her Scarpetta series. Google Kay Scarpetta series by Patricia Cornwell and you will get a list of the books in order of how to read them. You’ll love ‘em!

I enjoy her books. She is not for everyone. I did initially start reading her because of her medical and forensic background.

The further on they get the more unbelievable in my opinion, it has gotten a bit silly. The early ones are gritty and raw, fascinating.
I really enjoyed her early books-they eventually became tedious and I gave up. Same for hubs
You’ve made me nostalgic I think I might have to download hem onto my kindle haha
I have 2 books left to read in the Scarpetta series. Loved the journey

IMO her books stopped being good after Cause of death. Up until then her books were good.
Fantastic thank you all! Been offered a bundle of hers for a good price & wasn’t sure whether to purchase!
I will probably start her series again someday cause I need to finish her books that are newer
The newer ones are hard to read. I kept expecting them to get better, but they never did.
Agree

Yes. Loved her Scarpetta series although I’m quite a few books behind.
I enjoyed the earlier works, pretty much the 90s.
Enjoyed the early books, then stopped.

Like many others I loved her early books.

Brilliant. I have read most of the Scarpetta novels – a flawed and intriguing heroine.
