I like The last Kingdom a lot. and Pillars of the Earth. Have you tried The Strongbow Saga by Judson Roberts? its about a Viking boy- I really enjoyed it.
@Lucas The book Pillar of the Earth was way better than the series. I think it appeals to people who like multi-generational epics like Edward Rutherfurd and James Michener.
I have read all the Cornwall books including sharpe. Great writer. Also a I’m a fan of conn igguleden prefer his earlier books more, he is also publishing fantasy under the name C.F.Iggulden
I like Cornwall.
The last kingdom!!! Also clan of the cave bear was worth a read, but I wouldn’t call that historical by any means.
Cornwell is excellent. I also recommend Stephen Pressfield books too. Start with Gates of Fire.
Love Bernard Cornwell. Read most of his books. Big fan of the Sharpe series. Not tried any angus Donald.
I didnt read Sharpe or last kingdom because I had seen the show but I’ve read almost all the rest of his stuff, loved the ones about English archers
@Lucas I also really like his Excalibur trilogy.
@Clay yes! Wicked cool twist with Gwynevere and Lancelot
Yes outlaw is excellent as was Cornwell s last kingdom

I love Cornwell and Iggulden. Cornwell’s Warlord chronicles series is his magnum opus. It’s perfection.

Love Diana gabaldons cross stitch series. And Dorothy dunnetts lymond series. Have read them several times.
I love Simon Scarrow – who writes about roman legionaries – and Conn Igguldens series about Caesar and Genghis Khan
Christian Cameron’s Tyrant series. He also writes fantasy as Miles Cameron (red knight series)
And Giles Christian who writes about the Vikings
