We were in a bookshop the other day getting books as a gift for a child. It had been a while since I was in a bookshop so I had to get one didn’t I? Or three when I was saw there was a 3 for 2 offer. I was excited to see the JE book.
@Miranda It’s really good. I’m almost 1/2 way through. It’s a bit of a rip off of Rainbow Rowell’s writing style, but she’s a good person to be influenced by.
Just finished Winter Garden by Kristin Hannah before work this morning and it left me just as heartbroken and in love as The Nightingale. I have gone on a Kristin Hannah book buying binge. Her books are phenomenal and I must read them all. But… alas… book club calls and I must sadly put Kristin Hannah’s books on hold for a wee bit, I need to start reading The Red Tent for book club. Happy Reading All!!!
When I was a young man I discovered the great Yiddish author Issac Bashevis Singer. I have bought and read a lot of his books. Every time I find an English translation of something of his I have not read, I grab it. I have just started “In My Father’s Court”. So far, it is terrific.
Quiet by Susan Cain
The Shining. Had to take a break from another book
Batman: Nightwalker by Marie Lu.
