I’m a fan of Paul Collins. He likes to research lots of “scandalous” court cases from the 1700s and 1800s. And his “Banvard’s Folly” was interesting (not true crime, but stories about people who really failed spectacularly in what they were trying to do).

Heavenly Creatures by Peter Graham about Pauline Parker and Juliet Hulme murdering Pauline’s mom. Juliet actually is the author Anne Perry. I won’t give up how that happens in case anyone wants to read it. Also Small Sacrifices by Ann Rule about Diane Downs, and also Helter Skelter.

Whaaaaaat? I had no idea about Anne Perry!! I have to read this

@Brenna It’s super interesting. A movie about it was also made and it’s quite good. An at the time unknown Kate Winslet portrays Juliet. Of course, the book provides more details as well as photos of the actual people and places.

The Stranger Besides Me and Small Sacrifices by Ann Rule are my favorites. Fatal Vision and Blind Faith by Joe McGinnis are also excellent.
