The Paying Guests is really suspenseful. I think it’s being made into a movie.

I was wrong, no movie. But when I read it, it was so vivid it was like a movie in my head. I could see every inch of that house.

Check out the Ava Lee series by Ian Hamilton. Ava is a Chinese Canadian lesbian forensic accountant and the books are a lot more fun than that sounds! She is a proper kick-ass heroine. The first one is The Water Rats of Wanchai.

The Monkey’s Mask by Dorothy Porter. It’s all in verse, but once you get going, you’ll forget it’s written like that and enjoy it.

Tons! Anne Holt writes “Scandinavian Noir”, has been working in police, law and politics (was Minister of Justice of Norway), is lesbian and one of her series is about a lesbian detective.
