Haven’t read it but just in case, to mention that the movie was first, the book is a movie novelization, reason why maybe I personally haven’t prioritized it in my TBR list. The story was created originally to be a movie and that’s a complete different origin and language.
The movie was extremely overrated and I was very disappointed with it. The theme was cliche, and while I could see where the film was trying to go in terms of meaningful exploration, it fell flat in executing that. I’m not sure if the book is any better.

I loved the movie…didn’t even know about a book-will skip.
Bit disappointed in the book.
I liked it, but I have a soft spot for stories with creatures in them!
Movie was so visual. I can’t imagine the book could convey that but didn’t read it
I really liked the movie as well. Unique with a very interesting, endearing main character.
Did not read the book, but loved the movie!:)

I liked the movie, & the more I thought about it, the more I liked it. Time for the book.
Book was difficult for me to catch on to. Didn’t like it
Not interested.
