King is a personal preference for me but as Tiffany said, it’s apples and oranges. If I’m in the mood for something easy and overall pleasant, I’m hardly going to pick up IT or The Green Mile :p
Hard to choose. But I will choose King. He has more books behind him and although he is known for horror I find he also changes it up and around into magic. The horror doesn’t attract me but his ability to pull me in and feel what he writes.
If they both had new books out tomorrow I would have to buy both. They are both absorbing authors but for different reasons. I don’t think you can judge if one is better than the other – you might as well ask who is better, Agatha Christie or D. H Lawrence.
Queen Rowling, duh! I mean, King used to write very good books – some of which are classics -, but now, nothing coming out of his quill seems enjoyable to me. He’s lost his touch.
I prefer Rowling, but before she wrote and when I was in eighth grade I was deep into Stephen King. Now I prefer Rowling, I’m at a different stage, I don’t like reading horror as much, I might pick up something during October but that’s it.
It’s a toss up… I think both write well technically. I’m not too enchanted with either one though… King has gotten stale in his works, he needs to freshen up a bit… rowling has done the unforgivable with her characters. She forced them to be something they weren’t ready to be yet. It ruined her magic.
Completely different styles of writing. Both are great in their own category.
S.K.
They are both excellent.. It’s kind of like comparing apples to oranges.
Exactly what I was thinking
Really incomparable. Two different genres. Two entirely different authors.
It’s like comparing John Grisham to, I don’t know, Mary Higgins Clark.
Sherrilyn Kenyon, Kresley Cole
King is a personal preference for me but as Tiffany said, it’s apples and oranges. If I’m in the mood for something easy and overall pleasant, I’m hardly going to pick up IT or The Green Mile :p
Agree with the above. You really can’t compare them. More curious as to why you’d want to though? ?
J.K. ??
Stephen King
Both are ok. I’m sure I’ll get blasted for this but I’m not a big fan of either.
Totally different genres though.
I agree with you
I agree too.
One thing I will say about JK Rowling, she took a generation of non-readers and turned them into readers.
Definitely!
I do like what I’ve read, I’m just not fanatical about it.
Rowling for me
J K rules 🙂
Rowling . I am really taken somewhere when I read her books…

Hard to choose. But I will choose King. He has more books behind him and although he is known for horror I find he also changes it up and around into magic. The horror doesn’t attract me but his ability to pull me in and feel what he writes.
J.K. Rowling all the way!!!?
I’ll take Rowling any day over SK
Rowling
Rowling for me.
Stephen King without even thinking twice.
I prefer King but that may be generational
Neither for me
JK Rowling!!!
J.K. Rowling
am a huge fan of J.K Rowling but comparing her to King is absurd and preposterous. King is a legend and the Don
Stephen King.
They both write totally differently so I think they’re both amazing. However, I am a major HP fan so ill always choose Jo first ??
Both are so inspiring!
Neither ?
King xx
Both
@King
Both have their merits
J. K. Rowling for me

If they both had new books out tomorrow I would have to buy both. They are both absorbing authors but for different reasons. I don’t think you can judge if one is better than the other – you might as well ask who is better, Agatha Christie or D. H Lawrence.

Impossible to compare them???
That’s what I said!
??
JK Rowling
Rowling. I don’t read King
Two totally different authors and both are my FAVORITE❤️❤️
Jk Rowling. I read both but I can put Kings books down. Rowling’s are more immersive for me.
They’re both fabulous
Neither
J.K. Rowling
Stephen King ..hands down
Queen Rowling, duh! I mean, King used to write very good books – some of which are classics -, but now, nothing coming out of his quill seems enjoyable to me. He’s lost his touch.
Have you read 11/22/63? Trust me, he has not lost his touch!
I am afraid I have not. I grew reluctant to his recent publications, but I will give this one a shot if you guarantee a good time within its pages. 😀
That’s an impossible comparison. Both are completely different.
None of the above imho
I prefer Rowling, but before she wrote and when I was in eighth grade I was deep into Stephen King. Now I prefer Rowling, I’m at a different stage, I don’t like reading horror as much, I might pick up something during October but that’s it.
For an author of children’s books, Rowling is fantastic. But King is a Master of storytelling.
Steven King
Stephen King. No contest. JK is a great story teller. King is a writer. Room for both!
J.K. Rowling
King is the king of writing
None
It’s a toss up… I think both write well technically. I’m not too enchanted with either one though… King has gotten stale in his works, he needs to freshen up a bit… rowling has done the unforgivable with her characters. That’s not playing fair…lol
I can’t choose
I absolutely luv both
