Am I the only person who never read any books from Cassandra Clare and J.K Rowling?

I can’t read Cassandra Clare. Tried and failed. JK Rowling could write anything and I’d prolly read it though. ??♀️
I love JK, and HP, and the Strike novels, but “The Casual Vacancy” was super boring, even the show on HBO was boring lol. I also cannot read Clare. I just don’t like her writing style.
Everyone has their preferences. I think it’s good that some people dislike super famous/popular authors. I can’t read Stephen King novels.
Never had the desire to read harry potter lol
@Amy SAME
I’m not saying I didn’t like these authors I just… I’m not that interested to read their books especially the Harry Potter because that shit until now is a mainstream if you know what I mean.
I think it is rather narrow minded to automatically label and dismiss something as “shit” (your own word) just because it has become mainstream.
I haven’t
I tried reading Clockwork Angel but I DNF’d it ?
I haven’t
I haven’t read Cassandra Clare .. Harry Potter is my life !
Cassandra Clare is one I haven’t read but I can’t live without Harry Potter. Sorry.
nothing from Cassandra Clare (that I remember) but Harry Potter is what got me into my love of reading
I do understand that Harry Potter made a big impact from you guys. I know that it’s very nostalgic because I have friends who grew up reading the series.
I couldn’t get through the first Harry Potter book when it came out I tried but I just don’t like her writing
@Traci the first one is hard because it’s childish. I read them as an adult and had to push through the first 2.
Yeah I was 13 I think when the first one came out my brother loved it I just couldnt
@Traci my biggest issue with the writing is that she writes voices phonetically. It was so hard to deal with Hagrid’s speech, especially.
@Traci I think I was 14 when it came out and it took me until I was 30 to actually read them. I just never had any interest in wizards at all.
I read MI, but it’s the most poorly written of all her series. I mean her premise is amazing but the last 3 books are a hot mess. I read HP as it was still coming out when I was younger, my dad read them alongside me and we had a lot of discussions about it, maybe that made it better at the time. (to me HP while a kids book series has a lot of heavy content in it.)
I’ve only read book one of TMI and am still unsure on the others. I adore HP, though. I read it as an adult because I was curious what the fuss was and was actually surprised at how much I enjoyed it.
Waaaa
I haven’t
I haven’t.
I listened to all Harry Potter audiobooks and I loved it! But I never read books from Cassandra and I’m not planning to. I’m not into series which has so many parts and things get complicated
No. But I’m thinking about doing it as they both are praised highly ( or at least by ppl I know )
I read up to half of goblet of fire and stopped
I am not sure its a great thing that everyone has read Harry Potter. Its the next Frankenstein story. Frankenstein probably created some sort of inkling toward mad science whereas Harry Potter most likely created an increase in witchcraft and sorcery around the world and this causes chaos. I know its going on, I am no fool.
Yes ?
Nope
