I started reading crown of vengeance… it is a slow read. The names are all similar and extremely hard to pronounce or differentiate. Its holding my attention but its hard to keep everything in order
Valdemar is great. The diana tregarde books are my favourite. Sacred ground was amazing. Her books with James Mallory are awful I found for myself as are her elemental masters books. Her ones with andre Norton were passable. Her 500 kingdoms were easily read but not the best adaptations of fairy tales
I have a special place in my heart for Mercedes Lackey. As a young teen, I picked up The Black Gryphon from the library and it was the first adult fantasy novel I remember ever reading, and probably one of the main reasons my love of fantasy continues. Looking back and re-reading some of her stuff, I’m certainly glad I discovered other authors, but I still enjoy reading something of hers from time to time.
I used to love her books, but eventually it felt like reading the same book over and over again.
Exactly how I felt.

I like Lackey very much and had the same issue with this book. I think James Mallory heavily contributed.
I really like her Valdemar but I’d read a three book series then read something else

I read them when I was a young teen. I enjoyed them then, not so much now as an adult.
