What is the most recent book you bought that you paid full price? Was it an ebook or physical book?

Under the Udala Trees by Chinelo Okparanta (e-book)
It was really good. I gave it 5 stars.
David Walliams’ World’s Worst Children for my son!!! £6.99 ??? It was an ebook, and I paid that much because I’m trying to get my son to read more and this is the book he wanted. For myself, I wait for books I want to go on offer and read cheaper ones while I wait. Only very rarely will I pay full price if it is a book I really really really want. I just can’t afford to buy every book I want to read full price… ?
I just bought a second copy of We Were Eight Years in Power by Ta-Nehisi Coates. I bought one copy full price and then my mom stole it, so I had to buy another one.
I paid full price (minus a small pre-order discount) last month for the hardcover edition of Madelyn Albright’s Fascism: A Warning. It’s the first book my formerly non-reading husband has ever asked for, so I wanted to be sure he got it as soon as it came out. He’s almost half way through it and called me the other day and told me to tell him to put the book down and get back to work, as he’d been reading for an hour and a half and wasn’t getting anything done.
I paid full price for iBook I know I can get cheaper or free books etc.
It’s been about 2 years, and the book was the latest by Laurell K Hamilton. Hardcover.
Hook and Jill by Andrea Jones, just purchased Sunday.

A Higher Loyalty by James Comey. My husband is reading it first and he’s not a reader. He keeps telling me about the book!
Just bought The death and life of the Great Lakes. It is the most recent. Also got Educated too.
Let me know what you think of that, please. I am currently reading a fiction book called A Superior Death, that I hope will ne good. I love anything about the great lakes
@Kathy I am almost finished and really liked it. He is a thorough researcher, but it is not a dry research book. Good story teller.
The Life List by Lori Nelson Spielman
The Rules of Magic.
I never buy full price. Either buy through Amazon or go to library.

I’ll be Gone in the Dark by Michelle McNamara (Audiobook copy) and I will be buying a hard copy too!
Only Human by Sylvain Neuvel which came out today!!!!
The Trials of Apollo, Book 3 by Rick Riordan. It was one I pre-ordered a year ago and just got delivered. E-book.
Buy? Full price? Are you mad??? Libraries are the best! ??
Twin Peaks : The Final Dossier by Mark Frost
Libraries, books received as gifts, used book sales, Goodreads giveaways are now how i get books. It has been more than 25 years since I paid full price for a book. While I do recognize that authors need royalties, I’m not sure how much of a book’s price actually makes it to the author.
if nobody buys new books, there won’t be any before long. publishers need to make money or they won’t bother”
I have several friends who “only” buy new hardcover books. I’m hoping we balance out the trade. When I used to buy books, I always bought from a physical independent book store. Although my free Goodreads Kindle books come through Amazon, I have never actually purchased a book through Amazon.
Don’t forget that independent bookstores need the revenue or all that will be left is amazon and Barnes and Noble?. Someone has to buy it new before there can be used. I do new ( independent only), used sales and library ( audiobooks)
We have one of the best movies independent bookstores in the country in Denver. It’s managed to survive while the local Barnes & Noble brick stores have been struggling.
My son is a buyer / seller for an independent bookstore inDes Moines . I’d him to stay employed ??
@Amy I’m from Iowa, please share the name of the bookstore. Will be happy to help him stay employed!
@Cathy Awesome. He works at Beaverdale books. It is on Beaver Ave in the lovely capital city of Des Moines. Look for “Hunter’s picks” for great reads. Thanks!
Jane Austen at home by Lucy Worsley. I buy most of my books new. if people won’t buy new books, there soon won’t be any, because if non one can make any money out of them, why would they bother?
physical book – The color of magic by Terry Pratchett (it’s on my 50/50 list)
Kindle-Gifted Hands by Dr. Ben Carson
Being Mortal by Atul Gawande on Kindle.
