Mostly non fiction LOL when I read I want to be taken out of this world. I can’t thing of much in the paranormal world that I’m not into. Not really into sports. I haven’t read a lot of crime so I’m not sure.
I was never really into crime and then I read The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. It’s sort of crime/spy and it’s one of the best books I’ve ever read. The whole trilogy is amazing.
Okay I’ll have to check it out. There’s just so many books on my to read list. It may already be there. I have all my books on Goodreads so I can keep track. There’s like 5000 on my to read list LOL
Non fiction… I’ll read it occasionally but it doesn’t capture my interest as much as fiction… I feel like I live in the non fiction world and that’s the reason why I need and love to read so much, it’s the keyhole I slip through to escape
It depends for me. Sometimes I don’t mind high school ones. It depends on the characters usually for me. Are they smart and funny or stupid and annoying.
Romance, I think. Especially when the story’s heavily focused on cheesy romances. Ugh. But if the romance part is balanced with other genres/plotline in a story, I’m fine with it.
I don’t like science fiction or dystopian novels which have strange places, worlds or beings that I can’t pronounce or I think are surreal. David Eddings is brilliant but I just can’t read his books , but my family love him .
The sensational thriller. The ones where you have the ruggedly handsome renegade FBI agent who teams up with a drop-dead gorgeous spirited and independent NY cop whose walking the tight rope of suspension and dismissal and they uncover a plot that goes all the way to the Whitehouse and they are the only one what can prevent it – assuming of course they can stay out of each-others beds long enough to do their ‘jobs.’
Westerns. Anything Zombie. Romance. Like. I’ll read a book if it’s a cute little love story woven into an adventure or something. but if it’s all about her boobs and how she’s excessively screwing some guy. No. Just. No.
Ooh, just thought of another one. Amish. Just stop already! lol
And erotica. I’m not a prude with my reading, but when there’s so much of it and it goes into too much detail, it winds up just sounding cheesy and badly written. Just… not good.
Glad to hear I not the only one . I like romance but it so predictable they always end up the together engaged in 1monthv. Move into in 2 weeks. It just is lots of time these woman have to back bone and just does whatever he says . They never say no really that would be the day its 2017 . And of course the man has slept with lots of woman but first time he ever felt this way it told anyone whatever secret is . Just dumb
Sadly, contemporary has been a genre that’s never really done it for me, but I’d love to read a novel in this genre that totally changes my mind and feelings towards it!
Yes I was reading a horror that I didn’t know was a horror. After I read the first one, I wasn’t sure. After the second one, I was like nope I can’t go on to the third!
I mostly don’t like Thrillers unless they’re pretty mild and I don’t like Drama either If a book has a little bit of drama it’s cool but when it’s just jam packed full it’s just too much
Hareliquin romance type. It always seems to the same plot just different characters. I read most of Fern Michael’s but sometimes she runs along that line though — I’ve noticed mistakes in her plots when she runs a series–I do like Nora Roberts though.
Bodice rippers. I don’t mind some romance in a book, but the moment the main characters are seen running in slow motion towards one another, I’m out. ??✌️
YA which makes me sad because my daughter has a huge library full of them she would love for me to read. I just can’t seem to be able to connect enough to become hooked.
