I’ve only read 3 Thomas Edison’s, Stan Lee’s, and Truett Cathy’s. I enjoyed all three. Both Stan’s and Edison’s are interesting because you can tell they both honestly considered their selves to be good guys. Where as if you read Someone else’s story about them it will include stories of them taking credit for what was not theirs.
So far I read Up from slavery autobiography of Booker T Washington and Always the Children by Anne Watts. I have autobiographies of Bertrand Russell, Nelson Mandela and Muhammad Asad. I ‘ll love reading more autobiographies.
Can Anne Frank’s really considered an autobiography? What’s your opinion? It’s her diary. It’s not like she meant it to be published. I prefer memoirs over autobiographies because how can it be complete if there is still life to be lead? If it comes down to a specific time period, I did like “Girl in a Band” by Kim Gordon, but it’s really only related to a certain time frame, not her whole life. But again, that’s more of a memoir.
I enjoyed Frank Lloyd Wright’s by Meryle Secrest and one of Jack Dempsey but I cant recall the name nor the author. Read a bunch of Presidential ones, Liked Truman’s but not many of the rest. Maybe a President needs a good 40-50 years to find out how effective or influential they actually were.
Most recently read..in 2018..favorites were Penny Marshall’s, My Mother was Nuts and Burt Reynolds, Enough About Me. I also enjoyed David Spade’s Polaroid Guy in a SnapChat World.
@Julie omg I had this book when I was younger and none of my friends had ever heard of it! I’ve never even heard anyone else mention it before! (None of my family or friends read except my mum?)
