I’ve a real soft spot for matilda ? when I was 9 I had read every single book in the school library and my lovely teacher would bring in books from home for me to read. Matilda was the 1st she gave me and it’s stuck with me always. Her reasoning was because I reminded her of matilda because of the way I devoured books. I adored that teacher, Mrs Pearce ?
His short stories were great, though I feel that they are unfairly overlooked due to Tales of the Unexpected which rapidly became Christened Tales of the Completely Predictable
Is Fantastic Mr. Fox good? I’ve heard people talk about it in my children’s literature class, but never picked it up to see what the fuss was all about.
The Witches was the first book I ever picked up by Roald Dahl and I loved it. I haven’t really read anything else by him. I know of Matilda and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, but outside of those, I don’t really know Roald Dahl at all.
Danny the champion of the world or Esio Trot 🙂
Boy …. loved that book, Dahl was my maiden name ?
Charlie and the chocolate factory, I still have my copy from childhood, I would never part with it.

The Magic Finger?
I have never read one by him….what should I start with?
The obvious answers would be Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and the BFG
Treat yourself to a box set & read them all Jill?
Also check out the short story volumes. You might recognise a few stories as they were adapted for Tales of the Unexpected
Thank you @Nick for reminding me?
