Becky chambers. A long way to a small angry planet
Spinward Fringe by Randolph LaLonde, Lucifer’s Hammer or anything else by Larry Niven, Herbert’s Dune series, most of Arthur C. Clarke’s works, Wool Series by Hugh Howey, Molly Fyde series by Hugh Howey, Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer, Across the Universe series by Beth Revis, The Breakers series by Edward W Robertson, anything by Vernor Vinge, The 5th Wave series by Rick Yancey. I REALLY like sci-fi!!
Didn’t notice the “this century”. Some of these are late last century, but most are post 1971. “Good” sci-fi usually ages really well!
Stephen kings dark Tower series! Wonderful books ?
@Laura I think Dark Tower is actually fantasy, not sci-fi
probably fantasy but still great!
Joe Hill’s The Fireman is probably not classified as science fiction, but IMO it should be as it is a post-apocalyptic tale about a pandemic. I highly recommend it.
@Barbara James Rollins newest book about AI. Lots of science
The Murderbot Diaries series by Martha Wells
Can’t do better than Ray Bradbury…Just the best…Isaac Asimov or Robert Heinlein. I prefer the classics.
Lilith’s brood /xenogenisis series by Octavia Butler!
Anything Arthur C. Clark–especially his Rendezvous with Rama. Or Frank Herbert’s Dune series
