Codex Alera by Jim Butcher Mistborn by Brandon Sanderson His Dark Materials by Philip Pullman and if you’re into unfinished series, Outlander by Diana Gabaldon Kingkiller Chronicle by Patrick Rothfuss Wars of Light and Shadow by Janny Wurts
Not Kingkiller Chronicle if you ever want to finish the trilogy. I seriously don’t think he’s going to finish it… although it’s a crying shame because book 1 is a masterpiece (IMO).
The Dresden Files by Jim Butcher. The series gets better with each book: I think it really starts getting good at book 3 or 4 and quickly becomes excellent/addictive.
The Wheel of Time-Robert Jordan, Shannara- Terry Brooks, Pillars of the Earth, the Asylum series-Madeleine Roux, Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children trilogy-Ransom Riggs.
1. Anything by Jennifer L Armentrout- the Lux series, the Dark Elements trilogy, the Covenant series, the Wicked trilogy 2. Throne of Glass or A Court of Thorns and Roses if you haven’t read them already. 3. Air Awakens series by Elisa Kova 4. A Darker Shade of Magic by VE Schwaab 5. Falling Kingdoms by Morgan Rhodes
Brain isn’t working ATM. But first ones of the top of my head are Belador series @Dianna, dark hunters series Sherrilyn Kenyon, seven realms series Cinda Williams Chima. Vampire academy Richelle meade
The first ones that come to mind are: – A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J Maas – The Tea Rose by Jennifer Donnelly – Outlander by Diana Gabaldon – The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins – Wendy Darling series by Colleen Oakes
If you want to learn about Native Americans in the Southwest, read Tony Hillerman’s series about Joe Leaphorn and about Jim Chee. They are crime/mystery novels. You will enter a different world.
The Greywalker Series by Kat Richardson The Finishing School, Parasol Protectorate and Custard Protocal series by Gail Carriger Longmire Series by Craig Johnson Mitford series by Jan Karon
What kinda stuff ya like?? Anne McCaffrey has good Dragons (So’s Jane Yolen), as well as several other sci-fi stuffs.. Narnia, Prydain, Shannara, or Xanth are all good fantasy worlds… Dune, kinda political/sci-fi… Susan Cooper has a pretty neat magical series for youngish readers (10ish or maybe a little younger and up) and you can’t beat Madeleine L’Engle (Wrinkle in Time) for that same age grouping… More realistic?? The Brother Cadfael set is mystery, the Papa books by Thyra Ferre Bjornor, Sam Campbell or James Herriot for animals, or if you’re horse specific, all three Flicka books, or Black Stallion or Island Stallion (both Walter Farley), or the Misty of Chincoteagues (True stories, those, much of Henry’s work has roots in fact… ), or the Gypsy and Nimblefoot books by Somethingorother Wagner. The Little House on the Prairie set is pretty timeless, as is Anne of Green Gables… And probably Calvin and Hobbes or Patrick McManus for sheer fun.. And not all these are like, technically series, but most of them do have the same characters throughout, such as the James Herriot that is really just a bunch of different stories strung together… But they’re all following his practice as a country vet and you see the same patients all over the place 😉
Marie Brennan ‘Natural History of Dragons series’. Brandon sanderson – mistborn trilogy Robin hobb Maria v Snyder – poison study series (there’s nine books and she lists the order)
